Blunt

I'd be grateful if you could give me your views

Q: Do we roll on with BO or has it had it's day?
Q: MW3, what's the deal with the servers? Is it a goer?
Regards
Blunt

The key question is when the renewal is due, as we need to assess MW3 to see if it will be suitable and popular

I'm currently install MW3 now, so I can provide some info on this when up and running

Right I have been able to get my readily available version from the internet.

Singleplayer works however, multiplayer doesn't.

So it may work at the LAN eventually if this version is given a further patch to allow multiplayer.

As it is at the moment the readily available version is therefore NOT lan ready.

The price tag and lack of movement forward will put people off buying it however, if the patch comes out by the LAN we might be playing this at the LAN as a freebie.

I can if you like post in my section for people to keep an eye out for the multiplayer patch.

What the games does bring is what mw2 should have been for our community with new guns perks and kill bonuses like stealth bombers etc.

See it as a cod4 + mw2= mw3 (so cod 4 HD)

If we can get a free server up or a dedi one can we just run with it for 3 months and see if people join etc?

The game is £39.99 so not cheap I for one don't want to buy a game we might not want to adopt and with bf3 taking alot of numbers away from other sections this could be the right move forward.

What we don't want is people buying the game and then us not moving forward, I guess like Brink.

So we need to make a decision.

Your call Blunt.

Free dedicated server tool is available on Steam now.

I checked and it is in steam tools section.

Can we get it downloaded and installed at least to market the community on one of our servers?

Fairly damning reviews of MW3 so far, so I don't think the reason for renewal should depend on MW3 take up. On the other hand BF3 is epic and I would certainly play it before Black Ops (not that I get much chance at the moment), personally I don't think the server is used very much at the moment and if it came to a vote I would vote to not renew.
