Hey all,

I am getting free game codes from PC Gamer once a month.

I'll post the game name here and then give 3 days for you to decide on whether you want them for the community or not.

Once they leave this section they will be placed within the Supporting Members area of the forum for members to be able to put themselves for the invite and their name then pulled out of a hat.

I have these currently.

PAYDAY: THE HEIST

Payday: The Heist pits you and three  friends against the law in six heists, ranging from Panic Room's  four-against-the-world defense sequence to running battles on Heat  Street. As crime stories go, it's all action, no aftermath: a kind of  reversed Reservoir Dogs that boils a high-stakes heist down to the fatal  exchange of lead between cops and robbers

You can play offline with bots, but like Left 4 Dead it comes into its  own with human partners in crime. Find some allies in the PC Gamer community - there’s a pretty good chance that they own the game, after all.

DOTA 2 INVITE

Valve and Icefrog’s revival of the  seminal original is one of the most addictive, tough and rewarding  multiplayer games around. Endlessly varied and dazzlingly complicated,  you should be ready to invest some serious time into cresting that  notorious initial learning curve. Once you do, though, it’s the most fun  you can have with four people when half of them are ghosts, wizards,  trees, bears or werewolves.

Who knows - if all goes well, you might just find yourself competing for  millions at next year’s international. In that event, congratulations!  Just remember who sent you on your way.

EUROPA UNIVERSALIS III CHRONICLES

Many games claim to  let you re-write history, but few take that mandate as seriously as the  Europa Universalis series. It's a grand strategy game that covers the  period between 1453 and 1820, opening up hundreds of nations for you to  explore, expand, and exploit.

It's incredibly deep and dazzlingly complex, simulating trade,  diplomacy, war and culture down to a granular level. As such, the  learning curve is pretty steep: but Europa Universalis III has a huge  and dedicated community on hand to steer you on your path to domination.

EU III's In Nomine expansion expands the game's rebellion, religion and  decision systems, while Napoleon's Ambition expands the timeline and  improves trading. Chronicles also includes Divine Wind, which overhauls  the game's look and expands the game to include the political landscapes  of Japan and China. Finally, there's Heir to the Thone, which expands  warfare, culture, diplomacy and the structure of monarchies. If all that  somehow isn't enough, Europa Universalis III has a buzzing modding  scene.

Be prepared to invest some time into unlocking EU III’s potential, but  the rewards are worth it - and you may even learn something about actual  history into the bargain.

WORLD OF WARPLANES CLOSED BETA ACCESS

Tom Senior  journeyed all the way to Ukraine for our exclusive first look at World  of Warplanes, but thanks to the magic of internet codes  you can play the game for yourself, right now, in the comfort of your  own home. It's a great opportunity to not only get to grips with World  of Warplanes' dogfighting mechanics but to help out with the ongoing  development of the game.

WORLD OF TANKS BONUS CODES

Your World of Tanks bonus code  will net you three days of Premium account status, which grants 50%  more credits and XP per battle - allowing you to unlock better kit,  faster. You'll also get a M22 Locust American Tier 3 premium tank.

WORLD OF TANKS INVITE CODE

Apply this invite code  while creating a new World of Tanks account to receive 1500 bonus gold,  worth £5.95. Gold can be used to purchase Premium account status, which  as explained above boosts the XP, crew XP and credits received in  battle, as well as giving you an upgraded garage and the ability to  create a tank company. 1500 gold is enough for seven days of premium  with pocket change left over.

If you've already got a World of Tanks account, why not use this code to lure a friend into battle with you?

SHOGUN 2: RISE OF THE SAMURAI CAMPAIGN

Rise of the  Samurai is a campaign for Shogun 2 set 400 years before the Sengoku  jidai. During the Gempei War, six clans and three families fought for  political prominence. When the smoke cleared, Japan had its first  Shogun.

It's a fast-paced campaign that makes for an excellent  way to spend a weekend. Because of the earlier setting, units are less  technologically advanced - but unique troops like bow and sword-wielding  foot samurai add tactical nuance to battles. There's also an influence  system that allows you to turn wavering provinces over to your side  using a new Junsatsushi agent. Other new agents include the seductive  Shirabyoshi, Monomi assassin, and religious Sou. There's also a new  historical scenario, the Battle of Anegawa in 1570.

VICTORY: THE AGE OF RACING IN-GAME CASH

Victory: The  Age of Racing is a free-to-play open-wheel driving sim that can be  played with pad, keyboard and mouse. It's got realistic vehicle physics  but an arcade outlook, and devs Vae Victis say that they're trying to  strike that balance between accessible racing and serious motoring.  Victory occupies the middle ground between TrackMania’s gravity-defying  madness and iRacing’s grounded simulation.

You code  will unlock in-game Victis Gold that can be spent on vehicle components  and customisation options, giving you a head start on the road to  creating the perfect ride.

WARHAMMER: WRATH OF HEROES ORNATE CHEST

Warhammer:  Wrath of Heroes is a free-to-play arena PvP game based on Warhammer  Online and developed by BioWare. It's currently in beta and features an  array of pre-made heroes with unlockable abilities. This code  will net you an Ornate Chest containing a random elite tactic for one  of these heroes, putting you one step ahead of your competitors from day  one.

PLANETSIDE 2 PRIORITY BETA ACCESS

The original Planetside was much loved for the things it did right:  massive open-world FPS combat, spawling landscapes, and brilliant  vehicles. In many ways, it was a game ahead of it's time, attempting to  do far more than anyone would expect from a shooter in 2003.

Almost ten years later, it's back: and technology has finally caught up  with it. SOE want you to be there from the start to make sure it's  everything it can be - enter your code today to get access as soon as the beta becomes available.

COMPANY OF HEROES

One of the most critically acclaimed strategy games ever, Company of Heroes redefined real-time strategy on the PC. We gave it a well-deserved 94% back in PCG 179, and it was our game of the year for 2006.

It's a joint arms strategy game set in the period of World War 2  immediately following the Normandy invasions. You control small units of  infantry and tanks, and the destructible terrain, cover system and  suppression mechanics invest every mission with a huge number of  tactical variations.

Company of Heroes' single player campaign is an excellent game in its  own right, but skirmish modes and multiplayer extend the longevity of  the game enormously.

Two more this month:

SCROLLS

Scrolls is Mojang’s next big project - a  competitive card battler that could only have been made as an electronic  game. Build a deck and play cards on a hex-based board, attempting to  breach the enemy’s defences and smash their idols before they breach and  smash yours. Cards range from troops and monsters to siege weapons and  enchantments, with the titular scrolls acting as special abilities to be  played in certain circumstances - allowing you to deal with mobs of  foes, for example. To start playing, go to mojang.com and sign up for an account. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to redeem your code and download the client.

HAWKEN BETA
Hawken is a fast-paced, first person mech deathmatch game from indie  devs Adhesive Games. You fight across beautifully rendered dystopian  future cityscapes, using the mobility of your mech to your advantage as  you track down enemies and escape pursuers. Adhesive recently announced  support for the Oculus Rift VR headset - the closest you’re likely to  get to sitting inside a mech of your own. It’ll be free when it comes  out in December, but this code will net you early access. Redeem your  code at playhawken.com to get started.

Please remember to assess all these for feasibility as a Community game where appropriate :)

The above games have been in here for a while now with many of the codes I received bound to have an expiry date, wondering whether I can now push them down to supporting members as discussed in the GL meeting?

To do this we'll need a forum section or topic within the supporting member part of the forum. If we want to do an announcement highlighting this regular reward opportunity for being a supporting member this might be a good time to do so too (an incentive I guess to become a supporting member).

Once this section/ topic is created members can then show an interest in a given game and I'll add there names into a random draw 7 days after posting. A PM will then be sent out conatining the game code to the winner.

How does that sound?

I think you have to hold off as there is other items that need to be announced around the same time
"It's hard, but not as hard as Arma!!!" Tutonic
"Over the centuries, mankind has tried many ways of combating the forces of evil... prayer, fasting, good works and so on. Up until Doom, no one seemed to have thought about the double-barrel shotgun. Eat leaden death, demon.." Terry Pratchett

FIREFALL BETA ACCESS

In the future, a disaster aboard a starship unleashes an energy  storm called the Melding. Chaos envelops the Earth, wipes out most of  the planet, and spawns an army of hostile creatures who call themselves  'The Chosen'. It's your job - along with a few hundred thousand of your  closest friends - to pull on a jetpack, pick up a gun, and retake the  planet in the biggest co-op shooter ever made.

With your beta code, you can get straight into the action without having  to wait your turn to come up, or a friend to let you in. Firefall is a  completely free-to-play game, so you don't have to worry about being stung once you get hooked.

While the main game is PvE-based, there's a  hefty PvP element if you prefer going up against other players instead  of AI drones. Jetpacks mean the fight is far more vertically minded than  most, and all combat is purely skill-based rather than a matter of dice  rolls or levels. Red 5 has also built a number of e-sports-ready  arenas, with a $1 million tournament due to take place in 2013.

How are these codes being handed out exactly? I asked for a couple (don't need shogun2 now) and never received a response.

BrotherTobious

Well if we think it has legs and we want to run with it. If we don't we offer them to first come first served supporting members. Part of the added value selling point when go live with the LAN fees

The codes are given to us free by PC Gamer each month. Some of which may have expired by now due to their age hence my previous bumping of the thread as its a shame to loose all the codes.

The idea was to have codes posted here first for game leaders to express an interest in ones that may help build a new "game" within the community.

As confirmed by Pen within this thread above:
QuotePlease remember to assess all these for feasibility as a Community game where appropriate :)

If none were viable for building a game within the community they would then be pushed to supporting members as we discussed at the last GL meeting.

I didn't post after Pen's post as I thought this had clarified this.

The codes aren't yet being handed out publicly to the community but will be offered in some form or another to supporting members to vote on to add a sweetner for being a supporting member.

So as game leaders have first say on the codes hence why I post them here.
