guys before every 1 kills of the xbox one before it even comes  out, let the dust settle.

i tend to remember that every 1 was gonna buy a ps3 over a xbox360 when it came out, how did that turn out again?

I bought a PS3. In 2008. i picked up an XBOX 360 on eBay two months ago. Both for the kids. Never played either. Never will. That's how that turned out.

Now I have a BluRay player already (PS3), which I didn't have in 2008 - why would I buy either new console? They're both inferior to my 2010 PC and would cost me a fortune in hardware and games. Better to spend a few pennies on upgrading in another couple of years.

I'm not even close to considering a purchase.
Last 1 we owned was a super nintendo

Lets face it, this is a very pc oriented community, which probably makes it all the more pointless that we're getting caught up with which is better.

I have no intention of buying either, I have a 360 - it rarely gets used, I'd like to play the new Halo when it comes out, but I'm not paying £400 on a system for 1 game.

My main hope is that the new console hardware will help all games become better - but then I look at the footage of the ps4/xbox one & it doesn't look any better than what we've had on pc's for the last few years.

We are a pc community sure, but some of us have our roots in console gaming and some still use their consoles a lot (I have a fair few friends I keep in touch with over Xbl and PSN). And even if one doesn't play consoles, it can still be interesting to watch and discuss opinions, which is what we are doing

As for how the games are looking, you have to remember they don't need to look better than PC games to raise the bar up, just better than the old gen of console games! And they most certainly do. New console such as this will always drive development in the PC market too, as the console market being the lowest common denominator is what sets the bar in 90% of game development.

They could have just added offline mode when the disk is in the tray and kept other features, like sharing etc. But they've stripped it all back for fear misinterpretation. If they'd have thought it through and just had offline mode with the disk from the start, they could have added the other stuff (loaning or logging in a friends house) and it would have seemed great.


This is both a win and a loss for mass hysteria.

Funny to see microsoft themselves agree they almost screwed the pooch on this one.

See sneaky it wasn't just us, and we weren't just hating for the sake of it They were making a bad move, and for their sake I'm pleased they realised it. I want both MS and Sony to do well to be honest, an ecosystem with only 1 player is bad for everyone, competition drives the industry forward and keeps things working for the consumers
