QuoteGreetings Citizens,

For the next week, we’re unlocking the Origin M50 for all backers to test! The M50 is a fast, nimble interceptor that’s also great for star racing. We hope you enjoy this opportunity to try out one of Star Citizen’s faster, more focused ship designs. As you know, we made some exciting changes to controls and other mechanics with Arena Commander 0.9.2 (Star Citizen 13.2) and if you’re game we’re eager for feedback on how the racing mode plays. You can post your comments here, or in the Arena Commander forum. We’ll be watching!

This only for AC yes? There is no Murray Cup Racing right now?

Justin Tolerable

There is racing, actually. It's great fun :)

I actually tried my M50 in AC too. It's stupidly good. Nobody can hit you.

Twyst

UH, silly question. How do I race :)

Load SC up, press ESC, select Arena Commander.  Switch between the modes, and maps.

Holy crap! That is seriously good fun and looks awesome! I either need to turn down the res or graphics though because my single 770 just can't hack it @ 1440p, it's too blury. But is that a feature of the game on tight turns?

i found i was blacking out on corners....didnt think you got g effects in spce unless the ship has artifical grav, had fun though, but had the same 770 issue (little bit stutery) cant wait for more gfx options so i can get a nice frame rate/gfx level

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Justin Tolerable

You do get g effects in space - it's nothing to do with actual gravity, it's more similar in principle to centrifugal force. If you yaw into turns its a lot easier on the body - instead of blood rushing to our from your head, it rushes side to side.

Long and short of it is, yaw into a turn and you will be fine :)

No - you need to use roll to set it up though. Just make sure you turn by moving to the "left or right" rather than "up or down". It should feel like you're driving around a corner in a car... Kind of.
