A small question

Hello everyone , i have a litle question , i use on my pc Radeon 7000 64 mb as a video acelerator , now i wanted to ask how can i improve my video quality in cs , i dont know is just when i use it on 800x600 res 16bit its not that good , and i heard there are some special softwere that can help improve it , does anyone know about this soft or can help me with a solution ?? thank you very much and play on all of you , super people here

Counter Strike isn't that intense a graphical experience HG. I use 800x600 settings and 32bit with the smoke grenade quality at highest (set in game in the opions menu). In fact any modern graphics card from the last 2 years should make CS run well at high quality settings and you should get 100fps if you do a net_graph 3 in the console. You may find that your monitor does not set the in game refresh rate to 100 or above so if your monitor can handle higher refresh rates then download Refresh Lock, a small freeware application and force the refresh rate in game using the app. You need to have the correct monitor setup in System-Device Manager for the app to measure the safe refresh rates for your monitor. But this won't change how good CS looks, it's an old game and is no picture to look at by todays standards.

You could improve the look of the game by increasing the resolution to 1024x768 but if you have a 17" monitor or smaller it will make everythng so much smaller such as the crosshair and distant players that I feel it makes the game less enjoyable. If you haev a larger monitor then 1024x768 res would look nice.

Or buy CS:CZ when (if) it's released. It will automatically update the game engine I believe.

thank you oldbloke but i have CZ already and it didnt update as much as i wanted but its a litle better , but i am looking for better performence , thank you anyway for your help and wish you only well
