As the dMw Ark community continues to grow, is it worth branching out (different tribes) a little with separate TS channels (the latter is a little crowded at times)

Nothing against any persons/areas of course :)

Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

Been thinking hard about this myself, the game has a system for alliances in the upcoming 233.0 patch, all that we would need to do then is get together as the admins and make sure we set dino ownership etc as best we can to ensure not to much drastic taming has to be redone, structures however, I'm not sure about at all. Since the game is becoming this popular now, we might need to make a big change now to save a catastrophic change later...

Any one else have some thoughts to share?

But then we'd miss the "Tribe member x has died..." messages. :P

My only issue has been too many in the room talking over each other but that's easily solved by jumping into a different channel. Nothing terrible, just different groups with different objectives.

I'm not sure what we get by creating separate Tribes?

It is an option, but there are a few things you have to consider.

- Our server is a pvp server but we really run it as a pve server (the 2 tribes (while one is now sort of inactive) leave each other alone)
- We have around 20 people playing this game now, with most of them in 1 tribe, this sounds messy and yes it kind of is if you look about what is going on at the keep, but it is easier to help people out.
- Main thing i am more concerned for, a lot of us have already gotten pretty far into the game and build a working house/base. With leaving a tribe that what you previously owned is owned by the tribe and sort of means you have to start over. This doesn't really count for the dino's you tamed as you can unclaim them and then claim them back, but for what i know also out of experience is that the bases are not tradable. (a thing to look in to)
- A more personal feeling, now it is one big group (some spread across the island, others already of thinking of moving) it sounds a bit messy but it is one fun having group, splitting that up in smaller groups gives me the feeling that there will be a sort of rivalry going on at some point.

Excellent points, Ice.

Channel splitting is probably the way to go, peeps can stay in main and go to the specialised channel if it gets too full/noisy.

- Taming
- Hunting
- Adventuring

Maybe some localised channels when we start moving around to co-ordinate building work, etc.

No matter which channel you are in you can still get into trouble, we lose the cries of people asking for immediate help when we have others exited about the new plant they have found. Trying to get someone to give there location while general chat is still going on is annoying. If someone asks for lifesaving help in channel we need to drop the chitchat until they are found and safe.

Jamoe

Good points Ice, I think I feel that same, splitting into smaller tribes would lose some of the community and add a barrier to doing other stuff with other ppl.

Currently I spend a lot of time on projects with Gala and Sith but I had hoped when everyone got more into the game we could do some big cave runs etc.

I also think with new ppl joining all the time it might be too easy for the longer playing members to stay isolated from them.

Another thing to consider is the beds. I like to share my bed for quick travel :)

I agree, perhaps add

- Spelunking
- Building (we cleared off last night to discuss building the cave fortress)

Would also be a nice way for ppl to see what others were doing when they join.

Snokio

So do we need to add a couple more channels to TS?

Everyone has given all the points I would put, I think we need to stay a tribe due to all the points below. New people keep joining and it's a better experience when they are in a tribe they have access to better gear and like Jamoe said they have access to spawn points so when they die ( they will die) they can spawn back somewhere safe. I think the channels need to be split but we need to think more into it, when I play ark I normally do multiple things when I am on so I think lib idea isn't that great because I would have to keep swapping channel, maybe do channels based on locations so have a keep channel so that the people at keep can talk to each other, this is so we can communicate with each other if we want to borrow each other Dinos or to get any other sort of help.

I don't want to ark to take up the ts channels tho haha I don't think there going to be much point having 6 channels for ark because they might only get 2 or 3 people in the channels which is okay but it's nice to talk to more people specially those around you

Yep. Easily done. I'll sort it tonight.

Also we should keep a general chat Chanel so that when one of us is on at a random time like early morning we can go in that Chang so that we have other people to talk to like how I find myself always in sneaky at the early morning which is nice because I got someone to talk to

I think we can use the Southern Beards room for general chat and then list sub rooms for more specific groups?

Indeed. No need to get too hung up on the number of channels.
