So there's been some great posts on Reddit recently showing off the 8-bit ships illustrations people have been doing.  So I chopped up the most complete ship roster I could find and rearranged it to be our fleet so far.  We're missing some ships on here - no Endeavor, crucible or some Hull varients, for example - but it's still a lesson on how to abandon all moderation in spending habits.

This is going to be one very well equipped org... I worked out the cost of this lot and added it to the pilots lounge.

And here's mine for good measure :D

Nice find. I really like that style as well!

Brilliant, love the graphics.  Something bizarrely intriguing about 8-bit stuff!

Every 8-bit graphic takes me back to my childhood!

But surely we don't have enough members to fly all those ships at once!!

No.  Not even a fraction of this fleet can be flown at once.  We'd be lucky just to get one of our two Idris flying, without any support.

Hence the nickname, 'The all-in-moderation fleet'... :)

What we do have is options.  For example - which of our nine carracks do we fly today?

Not sure how long insurance takes to bring back a ship but with all the spare capacity it should make rejoining fights a little quicker. I can see there being a tactical advantage in well parked backup ships.

But if we have only 1 in-game character, and we die, i thought CIG were trying to discourage the corpse run mechanic of other MMO's by making that really tricky ? i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure you'll respawn at a med bay nearby having been picked up "in fiction" by an NPC, maybe in a standard ship you're insurance will replace it fairly quickly, but with anything remotely exotic you will have to wait some time, certainly long enough to miss the end of the fight, and if you have spare ships you will still have to physically get to it, by a friend, galactic bus, etc, etc..... i suppose the juggling act will be stopping people just rejoining the same battle too quickly, making death a "meh" mechanic, but keeping it short enough so if it's a 3 hour long sunday afternoon Org' mission, we do have time to respsawn and either collect our ship and rejoin, or if it's a long wait for the insurance, take the bus to a different ship and still rejoin without getting frustrated ?

Yea, I was thinking more that you have 2 members with say an Idris each but you only have enough crew for 1. You park the second somewhere safe but close, if the first Idris get's destroyed along with most of the crew you can respawn and pick up the second Idris. There is no waiting for ships insurance to kick in.

No idea how feasible this would be or whether it runs against any dMw/PACT standards.

This sort of thing sounds pretty normal to me? Combined with medical ships and repair ships sounds like an interesting setup for keeping a campaign going longer? Either way you'd still need to protect your supply chain lest a warlock creep back, disable the other idris with it's emp...
