Hey guys,

So I'm brand new here to the community and have recently (and finally) purchased ARMA 3. I'd love to get some game time with some of you and get you to teach me the ropes as it seems that random multiplayer servers are a total free for all with not a lot of structure.

Do I need to have a minimum amount of training before I can join in (should I do up to a certain campaign mission for example?)

Welcome to the group Hero. Regular Arma runs are Sunday evening.  TwoBad is the man to ask, afraid I can't comment on required standard as I've not yet managed to make it on one but everyone's friendly and helpful around here.

Hello there hero and welcome to dMw. Great to see you got arma iots a brilliant game and i am sure you should get a good few hundred hours out of it like myself.

We hold an arma night on sunday nights at 7.30 ish so your more then welcome to come and join us on there, we normally do missions that require team work so its not like that free for all that is multiplayer servers. We dont expect you to have any training or hours in the game but it is a hard game to master even now with my 300+ hours i am still learning things about this game. So feel free to join us we have uni join us who was a complete noob at it and has done well for himself. Its some good fun tho hero and you should join us if you get the chance to. it would be great to see you there.

Do you have the new map pack apex ? if not no worries we can happily change back to the old maps but if you like it i recommend getting it. it's a brilliant map and a completely different way to play arma in the forests compared to the deserts.

Last thing if you want to do a multiplayer game online i wouldn say do "annex and invade" this is a game mode that is very organised and isn't a free for all, most people take it seriously but is very fun. i need to play more of this so if you want to add me maybe we could gets some games of this going sometimes ? this game mode is very similar to what we do on sundays but public not just dMw.

Thanks all. That's good to know and I'll definitely try joining in some time on a Sunday. Like the whole teamwork idea, seems to be a good way to play.

I may have to take you up on the joining up on the annex and invade but would like to sink some more hours into it before committing to the apex map pack. Although I can see myself buying it anyway at some point!

May have to run the bootcamp and VR training again though, tried playing last night and couldn't remember half the buttons!! :lmfao:

Hi there Hero, good to see you here and you are most certainly welcome.

As has already been said, we don't worry if you are a seasoned veteran or a complete beginner, you will be welcome to play with us.  We almost always play coop missions against the AI and teamwork is needed to accomplish the tasks.

We play every Sunday with the mission starting at 8pm and will normally run for a couple of hours.  Some of us will normally be on from around 7ish for a bit of a mess around and this is an ideal time to start learning the ropes.  We're all really friendly so jump on Teamspeak and come join us.

Thanks for introducing yourself! I can only echo what has already been said to you already.

Most of us are on Teamspeak, both inside and outside of Arma, so I'm sure there will be people around to give you a hand with learning the basics or just someone to chat with!
