Yay! Pretty much finished my strategy for T's on Aztec. There's still some tuning to do here and there, but it's roughly about how i wanted it.

i've spent so long on making it easy to follow, much longer than i anticipated, (can't wait to play some actual CS again!) but hopefully it's all laid out simply enough for everyone or anyone interested to grasp.

As you can see, if you clicks hereabouts:

http://www.planetash.net/mistereggs/strats/aztec-t

you'll see the outline of it and view all stages from the different perspectives of each squad and squad members by clicking on stuff.

It might seem a fairly complex plan at first, but once you get the hang of each phase and where each man should be at any given time, it's reasonably simple. Nothing that should give the average dMw'er any problems anyway.  :?  8O  :D

In the privacy of my own head it works a treat, a 100% success rate so far (except once when i mistakenly chose the CT side and knew what to expect   ) but i'd love to give a tryout in the real virtual world if anyone's up for it.

Any comments, suggestions or cigarettes more than welcome.   :D

*Funny how my attitude to this map has changed after working out a strategy for it, i don't hate it nearly half as much as i did before............hey..i wonder if that'll work on the girlf too...hmmm   :D

Sorry mate but I think there's a problem with the Green team instructions.

Looks like you got your As Bs and Cs mixed up somewhere.

Green A:

On BITE! command wait for GREEN B (this should be Green C) to pass then follow across bridge with HE in hand.

Green C:

Go to stairs (3) and cover BLUE SQUAD's approach through water.
As soon as BLUE SQUAD safely reach end of water corridor fall back to join GREEN B (this should be Green A) at DD.

Ok. First off I LOVE the format. Even I could follow it.  :D

My reservations ...

ORANGE:
-calls the shots but is (mostly) detached from the action so how does he know WHEN to call?
-is wasted by camping out at the DD when the action is at the bridge bombsite.
-cannot give crunch command if he dies going through the DD.

BLUE Team-
-will find it difficult to progress to their watery positions (as far forward as they are) if the defending team have someone watching water.
-will find it difficult to climb the stairs (and hold position there) when they can be seen by the defenders at top site.

Either way it's a very detailed and worthwhile plan that begs to be tested.

Oops    thought i'd borrected all of them, i'll sort it now and get cabk to you on that one. Well spotted btw! :D

lol, excellent. Glad you like it. i was working on it with the intention that the easier it was to follow, the more people could get a grip on it, and therefore it'd have more chance of success.

QuoteMy reservations ...
ORANGE:
-calls the shots but is (mostly) detached from the action so how does he know WHEN to call?

Good point. My original intention was to put radio instructions in for the other squads at the appropriate points, but thought it might get confusing unless i had a good idea of the timings of each squad/member. Thinking about it now though, it really only needs 1 from GREEN and 1 from BLUE to call with a sitrep and everyone knows what's what.

i shall now commence amending.

Quote-is wasted by camping out at the DD when the action is at the bridge bombsite.

My reasoning here is that if all goes well, ORANGE can keep at best 2-3 CT's busy DD side and at the very least one, so although he can't actually back up the bridge rush or water support he can at least keep some of the attention away from it.

Quote-cannot give crunch command if he dies going through the DD.
Another good point, and one i'm aware that i didn't cover properly, and that's that if ORANGE should die, then GREEN A takes over. If he dies, then GREEN B, then GREEN C.

i'll add a basic 'chain of command' section to explain it.

QuoteBLUE Team-
-will find it difficult to progress to their watery positions (as far forward as they are) if the defending team have someone watching water.
-will find it difficult to climb the stairs (and hold position there) when they can be seen by the defenders at top site.

Yep, my feeling is that this is possibly the weakest part of the plan, especially in the event of the timing being out.
The only thing i could think of to offset that is that whoever is in charge assigns the two of the best perfoming players at the time, to the BLUE SQUAD. Hopefully they'd cover each other well enough to minimise the danger, but without a good test it's hard to say how weak/strong it'll be, but it should be interesting finding out.

QuoteEither way it's a very detailed and worthwhile plan that begs to be tested.
