Help would be most appreciated as to trying to find a removal tool for this virus! I have run three online virus scans but they can't seem t find the virus! But avg keeps telling me i have it present on my system!

Thanks

Have you considered that it could (and I only mean could) be a false positive from AVG. I used to use AVG and it did get a few false positives over the months.

However, the possibility still remains that it is a genuine infection. There are two steps to removal:

1. type "remove sddrop virus" into google and pick the two links from trend micro which explain how to get rid of two of the variants.
2. Learn how to use google!

The thought occured to me (*ping*) that while telling people to 'Google it' is all very well, and possibly true, it is not too helpful. After all, most of the answers one comes up with are from various forum(i?) around the world especially in threads like this. My feeling is, if you have an answer----answer. You never know your contribution may be the one that turns up for some poor soul on another forum somewhere who has been told to 'Google it'. If not, don't post.

In the interests of good community relations.  :D  My 2¢ worth.

And for my usual sarcastic repost....stop downloading pron, filesharing got you into this mess.

EDIT: And while I'm feeling helpful, if you get this kinda thing, it may sound obvious but it's best not to google first, hit the anti virus sites, I use Sophos as I like the navigation, but each to there own. Read about the virus/worm, what it does, then start googling for removal (if your anti-virus can't handle it)
I used to use AVG but I'm on a proper solution now, and it is less painful.
