This LAN isn't even here yet and already I'm off and whaffling about issues.

Two things occur.

First I'm beginning to suspect we're at the end of the hooky game merry-go-round where we knock ourselves out trying to provide copies of games to people who are rich enough or clever enough to get their own copies legit or otherwise. They can afford a PC and the cost of the LAn so £25 each for two games isn't that much to ask. Coupled with the fact that a lot more people we don't know too well are turning up, and I'd argue we might want to go 'legit' in future?

Secondly with the exception of some sad withdrawls (Dogmeat, nearly Stryker) we've had a bit of a run around from one or two people (Mars, Thursday, Ice Hawk....). Some have not booked rooms and others have disappeared off the map.  It's fair to say some people are going to genuinly have issues that prevent them attending, but I'm not sure if there isn't some "Oh I can't be bothered to go" or "something better has turned up" etc. etc. going on. So just a point to float about, but would it be an idea to run the booking ourselves in some format? Unless we have a few hidden millionaires amongst us I don't think financing the whole thing upfront and getting attendees to pay the Clan would be on the cards. But maybe some form of initial financial commitment when people confirm they're going.  Even if it's just the cost of the LAN room?

Maybe something to mull over and discuss after the LAN?

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

TL and I had a very quick discussion whilst in Manchester about people dropping out and costs. Looks like another fireside chat at the LAN.

If i'm right then I reckon us admins are now gonna spend more time mulling over recent issues than playing :(
