Anyone else tried it?

It's an extension to their Yahoo Messenger product that allows you to use your PC to make phone calls - independant from your normal landline. Calls are charged at the same rate as any you'd make using your BT landline. In the first month all calls are free :)

So if you've got a BT line (and preferably BB as well) and want to give it a look-see, head over to:

No. I'm not on a commission  :narnar:

Alternatively use the voice link over messenger.
And no I'm not bitter ;)

Although I might give this a try for work stuff, so ignore everything I've said above.

But this allows you to call any phone number. Not just voice chat to other messenger users. The beauty of being gaming geeks is that we've almost all got decent headsets and soundcards.

Aye, I realised that halfway through but couldn't be ar5ed to retract it, hence the disclaimer bit at the end. I'll use it from my work line at home, sounds like a good addition.

Do you know the overhead on the ADSL?

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

I've been trying Skype and the voice comms are far better than using MSN and it's encrypted so there is some security.  You can also pay to call out to normal land lines at a reasonable rate.
