Can anyone help me, i have instaled new internet through a "lifebox from wanadoo". Now my internet workes fine but when i loged on at steam and i want to play cs, my comp can not log on to the other server. Please does anyone have an idea.  :ranting:  :ranting:  :ranting:  :ranting:

I have the new and faster Internet of Wannadoo aswell. 1 thing bro. Did the fella who checked your computer and installed new stuff did select another port for CS?
You have to tell exactly what happend to your computer otherwise we don't know what the problem might be.

You get an ticket error or something like that??


You can try the next few things:

log out and log back in.

or delete the blob file and steam will update again.

try those things and you should be able to play again ;)

I was thinking that it could be more of a port problem because he got a new installation of his modem and all. Any suggestions how to test this as I'm going to try and help my brother out tonight. Or could it be the firewall inside his modem?

Well his internet is fine at least that is what he says. So i think it is just steam.

Try the normal steam things and i think it should come fine again.

It might be that his internet connection in Steam isn't set right. I'll check it out tonight anyway.

We've tryed blob file and lots more. I'm still thinking it's a port problem. We have found out now how to change things in the server but what protocol and so does CZ use? TCP or UDP (suggested by BB). And what about the portnumber and so for CZ? Any suggestions tips what we can change?

Otherwise we'll send something to the helpdesk of wanadoo but I would like to try it first myself.

Have you tried pinging the server from your command line? If that doesn't get through then it might be a firewall issue. Does your modem do any kind of filtering, i.e. NAT?
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

How do I do that exactly again? I know it's through the command line but do I jut have to type tracert and then the serverIP?

Edit: Still DuVeL here btw....(here goes ghis postcount up a bit  ;) but I want to have it sorted)

 tracert 82.197.65.246 > trace.txt

which will output the tracert to a text file called trace.txt which you can open in notepad:)

BB, I've tryed it but can't find the tracetext file. It didn't trace as the first trace you gave me without the textfile. Any suggestions?
