Anyone know of a decent external USB hub with the latest USB standard that has it's own power supply and doesn't steal power from the PC? The cheaper the better, 4 ports min.

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

Cheers Sheepy, It's good for the price, only drawback of that one is it is USB1.1. Not an issue straight away but USB 2 is out and is 40 times faster than USB1.1. I suppose useful for future devices. I think this one looks the business:

for £29.37 from dabs

any other suggestions ?

Me cheap, I'm Scottish, we're never cheap!

I just ordered the one from dabs, the USB 2.0 looks good with a 480Mbps transfer rate compared 12Mbps over USB 1.1 ! So worth the extra £5.

I use the belkin USB2 4 port hub. Self powered, is USB 2 and supports USB 1.1 quite happily. NB it only runs USB 2 if you plug it into USB 2 port on PC. If it goes into USB 1.1 port it acts as USB 1.1 device. You can also run it without the power supply for low current devices (joysticks etc)

BlueBall, that's exactly the on eI just ordered  :D

Looks fine, and I have USB1.1 ports on my PC.

Good ole dabs, I got my hub already, ordered yesterday afternoon delivered today!
Works great, exactly what I was after, no more stretched cables all over the place for my nostromo and in fact....

I can now fit the nostromo nicely into a space beside my keyboard allowing me to use the TAB, Caps Lock, Left Shift and CTRL keys as easy as if I was using my full sized keyboard!
