Nice bit of flash work though :)

MAD_ness

Did anyone take the plunge and buy this ....and if so ..is it worth spending money on ???
I really was not born to work ALL my life !!!!!

Maus

Not yet... saving my pennies for Q4, which I'll be grabbing tomorrow :D

The demo was a little underwhelming, mostly because the game is a bit of a system hog (the end of the demo involved about three minute-long pauses as my comp struggled to load new textures). It was fun though, if short. And hard, which is always a good sign in a demo. It's certainly one I want to pick up the full version of.

Dewey

Doesn't anyone else get jumpey when playing these kind of games? I mean not scared *well maybe a bit* but I hate it when I jump because of weird things appearing or running up to me..  and this one has a little ghostly girl in it!! eek.

To compound the problem I tend to use headphones and there was one particular brown trouser moment I remember while playing an FPS, I didn't notice my wife had come into the room. I was totally immersed in some game, she put her face near my headphones to shout something in my ear, shouted and  grabbed me at the same time... I nearly jumped cat like to the ceiling after spilling my sunday dunger into my slacks! I've never been the same since  :D

I think I have post-traumatic stress disorder...  :(

I had to stop playing wolfenstien and Doom3 for the same reason... by the time I'd finished a session it was time to change the underwear.

I'm much happier shooting soldiers!  :dribble:

I know what you mean Dewey. The same with Alien vs Predator or whatever that game was. Not scarey, just random crap thrown in the dark to make you jump.

Developer Says "Hmm, let's turn it down, make it nice and dark and quiet, get them straining and turning up the volume to hear the quiet affects they put in. And......bang, a surprise....aren't I clever"

(Inidentally when the adverts appear to get louder on the telly during the break, they atually don't, it's the way the sound is run)

Yeah exactly m8, also don't you find the logic in these games a bit daft. ie in Doom3 your walking down a corridor, *all seems quiet but strangely..... NOT * for as you pass a certain point a big fook of multi-armed horror with a face full of teeth comes out from behind a secret door and rips your head off!

Question you should be asking yourself is.....?

What? What has this demonic creature from another universe been doing while in a 2x2ft room (not big enought to fit a dyson in)just  hidden by a sliding door that only activated when you trip a certain point?

What he's been waiting for some lone action hero to pass him?

And if he's so bloody big and hard *which he is* why is he waiting in a broom cupboard?
Is he now not only demonic but also suffering from aggroophobia?
And why when you finally kill him (usually after I've restarted the level a few times and I'm now walking backwards) do you find his cupboard has nothing in it.

Hmmm he must have been REALLLLLY bored... he's probably a network admistrator or something... *apologies to network administrators esp TL *bow bow*

Anway I find them to scarey, jumpey. *shudder*

So my missus actually doesn't say to me 'turn it down!' and I don't say to her 'it's the adverts!'?

I can't believe you talk to her during the adverts. Do you not play the advert game like myself - -usually on my own.

Hippy

Only way to play jumpy games is with no sound, lights on and someone else in the room.  :(

DarkAngel

I might buy it tomorrow and play it late at night with the lights off and my headphones on full "its the only way to scare the tango out of you"

Benny

Christ if that's your idea of a good night, drive down here, and wake my missus up at midnight. I guarantee you'll follow through. She scares me during the day...whilst I'm at work...behind a security door...with bodyguards.
