Additional hardware being brought along

We have a number of offers of extra hardware to make dMw LAN III go with a bang (that'll be the mains shorting then), but I thought it would be worth collating all of the stuff here so that peeps and the organisers can keep an eye on the hardware that will arrive.

Please do not fill this thread with general banter - please just keep it to the surplus hardware you will be able to bring.

I'll be able to bring the following surplus hardware if needed:

1. PC with Athlon XP1600+, 256MB RAM, basic graphics card, 6.4GB HDD, running XP
2. Laptop with 1.2GHz Celeron, 256MB RAM, onboard graphics, 30GB HDD, running XP
3. PC with 1.2GHz Duron, 256MB RAM, basic graphics card, running W98SE
4. New 60GB HDD ready to be strapped into any machine to help file serving.

I reckon all of the above would be best used as either file servers or game servers, but the offer is there if FB deems they are needed.

2 Cisco 2924 Switches have been ....um....archived for removal at work, one is a definite, second is a strongly possible....depending how much my boss wants to kiss my ass, I'll try and get the Cat4k if we need it/want it.

1Ghz, 512Mb ram with ati Radeon running XP (14 inch monitor only)

Am currently working on getting a 2948G switchso we can all plug into the one and save daisychaining things together. Watch this space

Sorry to but in with general banter but, by the looks of the pictures we will be on islands of tables?

if thats the case seperate switches may be required.... if the tables are like last time (see smites pics) then bring on the 48 port baby :-)

Daisy-chaining them would probab;ly give us more flexibility, but we hope to get everyone together in one area. Having said that, I doubt that we will get everyone around a single 48 port switch, so the more switches the merrier as it gives us flexibility to mess with things when we get down there beforehand.

I'll bring my P3 laptop along and a mouse to go with it.. It will have HL CS Mod on it and good to go.. we may need to tweek it a bit but as a spare someone could use it. I tried it and it works fine.
