I have a bit of lag problems (se my other post). I'm sure I'll get i sorted out, but in the meantime: The lag is cinsiderably less when I'm not running or moving fast. Playing assault (my usual favourite class) is a bit of a pain right now.

Would you mind me playing a sniper for a while (I lay still when shooting), probably just a week or two?

I'll make my own squad and of course follow orders from the commander. Or would you have me in a squad, following orders from the SL?

The reason I ask, is that the sniper role is less teamplay oriented than other classes (in my opinion it is a lone wolf/solo class). I value team play and I definitely want to play assault. I recon my lag problem will be fixed real soon, anyway.

I think people on dMw/BIG forget how important the sniper is sometimes...

It's NOT all about lone wolfing - The sniper is also a good 'spotter' & he has the claymores (for flag defence).

It's a good role for a team. We should always have a designated sniper in our big teams.

When playing Commander on ranked servers I have started choosing sniper as an alternative to Engineer.

I stand off just outside the action - so can spot any enemy flankers and pop them off for the team.

TOP TIP: Playing sniper when commander allows you to spot for yourself too. Use the SCAN function in te commanders map. That way you can 'see' any flankers or Spec Ops on the way to your assets - then you know which direction they are coming from and you scope up ready for them - 'Pop!' - one less flanker!

Mate I don't think you have to ask, you can play whatever you like. A sniper still has an important role to play in a squad as Ranger pointed out, spotting for your team mates and making that important kill can be hugely important.
