I am generally not into bans and kicks.... I'd like everyone being nice guys, peace in the world and freedom for all!! Errrmm.....

We encourage people to join squads. This is IMHO the most important aspect of our gaming. If you join a squad, the SL will issue orders (hopefullt by mike or by placing markers on the map, or both). Mos tpeople will obey the SL, as it is great fun to wreak havoc on the enemy (as a single soldier, the only thing that gets havoced is... the lone soldier).

How about we automatically kick players who doesn't join or create a squad within 5 minutes? 5 minutes should give them time to orient themselves. Maybe there could be a message on the screen sometimes, that says something like: "Please join a squad. If no squad is available, please make one. Otherwise you will be kicked from the server."

There is an auto kick now enabled on the server. We'll see how it goes :)

Well I think it's a great idea...

Except last night - when we didn't realize the changes and Dewey wasn't ready and got kicked! LOL

How we laughed!

(The change in the ASS flag layout confused us as well to begin with - but that turned out to be a welcome change too.)

Cheers!

I'm sure you mean AAS but you know best :)

Personally I didn't like the change to flags on Karkand. With the flags being split 50 50 at start it felt as if you were beginning part way through a level. The old scenario of US at one end having to work through the town was much more like a realistic scenario IMHO

ER...I did mean AAS - :)

I guess you are right - but the initial confusion made it interesting - a number of times people started to go to the wrong flag....Which was funny.

Hummer Racing was the highlight though (I still think I was robbed! LOL)

Hummer racing was a hoot until I was in the lead, half way round and ran into Sn00ks coming the other way in a tank :(

BB When you get kicked - it says it's because of excessive TK'ing or something similar - nowhere does it indicate that you'll get kicked if you don't join a squad.

I think the Rubric at the front really needs to make it clear- last night I couldn't understand why I kept being kicked (we had 7 players - the other 6 were in one squad so I didn't bother joining one all by myself).

I think it needs to be made clearer really....

Cheers

Actually it does say why - but it says why while you are still connected to the server, in big bold letters (have been kicked once myself for this after a map change when I ended up squadless (sometimes yuo carry your squad through, sometimes not...) but you have to notice the kick message (and if you didn't notice the "YOU HAVE 60 SECONDS TO JOIN A SQUAD OR BE KICKED" message (in caps ingame) then you might not notice the kick message ;) I have been kicked for high ping and for failing to remember to join a quad, and everytime this happens you get a opp up saying you were kicked due to "a successful kick vote or excessive teamkilling". Something that needs a bit of fixing...

This seemed to work well last night.

I forgot to join a squad - and the nice big friendly reminder jerked my memory! (Noticed it when I had 15 seconds left before being kicked! LOL)

As someone who likes to play SL a lot, people who 'lone wolf' are my greatest problem, as you need EVERY single guy when the action heats up. And it's really annoying when you know that there are extra guys on the team, but your squad is short.

:(

So yay kicking! It's the way of the future!

SecretSquirrel

Having not had the luxury of being kicked yet..how long do you remain kicked for or can you rejoin immediately
That Squirrel looks Impressive

you can rejoin immediately - think it's just a reminder to join a squad :) or to disable the wireless links on your house router so your flatmates can't bugger up your ping ;)

At the LAN - a few newcomers who didn't relize about TK=Kicks - were kicked but were able to return after the map changed.

I believe the Admin can specify how long a kick/ban is for though.

There is no auto ban for Tk'ing currently set on the server.
