Sometimes my F@H also gives me problems so if I want to play BF2 then I have to shut down F@H.
For the rest, I haven't heard about that problem before.
Have you tryed Google allready? I'm now at work and this time a bit busy...

Quote from: Eternaluk;182136Righty, well, I decided to go and buy BF2, (:)) But everytime I start it up,  I get past the intro move. ( movie clip) Then I get to the part JUST before the menu, ( It's the part when the menu is loading, It's all fuzzy sorta. (( It's ment to be like that. ))
And then.. I get this: "VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands"

Now, I just need to know what to do. I've tryed setting the Screen res to 800x600, but it doesn't seem to help at all.
Does this mean I need a new GFX, or something else? Because my RAM and Proccesor meet the requirements, so.. Could someone help me PPPPLLLEEAAASSSEE!.. :crying:  Umm, go on then get to it, HELP ME!
What setup are you playing on? What processes are running in the background?

Setup, i'm not sure what you mean by that, do you mean As in Xp? or vista?
IN that case, Windows Xp.

Processes...? OK: there are about 44...
I'll list some/all of them now...
( I don't know what all of these are. )
swdoctor.exe, alg.exe, msmsgs.exe, LVComSX.exe, QuickCam10.exe, Communications_ ( Something on the end I think, but I can't see it all. ), mHotkey.exe, dragdiag.exe, avgcc.exe, qttask.exe, atiptaxx.exe, ADeck.exe, ewidoctrl.exe, PDVDAerv.exe, cisvc.exe, avgemc.exe,  avgupsvc.exe, avgamsvr.exe, guard.exe, explorer.exe, ati2evxx.exe, LVPrcSrv.exe, spoolst.exe, svchost.exe, svchost.exe, svchost.exe, svchost.exe, svchost.exe, svchost.exe, ati2evxx.exe, taskmgr.exe ( ^^ ), IEXPLORER.EXE, lsass.exe, services.exe, winlogon.exe, csrss.exe, smss.exe, svchost.exe, sonytray.exe, sdhelp.exe, ctfmon.exe, system, System Idle Process.

*Wipes brow*There you go, all of them. Glad that's over.

Uhhhh, Righty... Processor, AMD Athlon, 1.75 Ghz; 512 Mb or RAM; Using DirectX V 9.0; Main Driver, ati2dvag.dll ( That what you need? ); ( This is the part where I'm confused.. )  GFX Card, I THINK it's a RADEON 9250, but that might be the computer mode. ( I'm pretty sure it's the card though 0.o ); DAC type ( 0.o ): Internal DAC (400MHz ).

I'm a bit lost now, So I'll go...

( Hardware as in Mouse, Keyboard, Etc..? )

(( I'm also D/Ling version 1.41 now, It may work, it may not... But I still don't unserstand why it wont let me have a mouse when I get to the "EA user agree ment thing".. ))

Go to start, then to run, in run type: dxdiag
It gives all the info we need and you can copy/paste it.

Is your 9250 a PCI version or AGP? If PCI forget it you wont be able to run BF2. If AGP maybe 50/50 but with v v low settings.

I would suggest you invest in a new AGP video card perhaps a GF6600GT take a look on ebay. BF2 also runs like a dog with 512MB a minimum of 1Gb would be better with 2Gb the ideal amount of RAM. If your motherboard does not have an AGP video card slot you will also have to add a new motherboard to your shopping list. Could be new system time.

You want to stop all unnecessary processes running in the background as well so fire up msconfig and uncheck all startup apps that you can live without and reboot.

see you on the battlefield.

There is a known flaw with BF2. The first time you start it it looks for a monitor than can run 800*600 @ 60Hz refresh. If your monitor gives a higher refresh than 60 then the game will bomb. Use refresh display control panel to set 800*600 at 60Hz and then you should be fine - if your software doesnt let you then download refreshfix or one of the many tools avail on the web for forcing a refresh rate.

I've done both of the above, at the same time, and I just can't get it to work properly..
I'm going to try it at techy's, see if it's the disk or something.
 Or just this computer..

Oh, also DuVeL, I can't copy and paste it, but i'll keep trying. :)

BTW Sync, is GF6600GT that a G-force 6600 GT? ( Not sure what the GT stands for.. )

This is AGP do not make the mistake of buying a PCIe for your mobo.

Have you got the latest catalyst drivers 6.11 installed for your video card found here

Do you have any free RAM slots? You could do with an extra 512MB found here.. assuming you are using DDR RAM and not PC100

edit..I've no idea what the going rate for kids pocket money is these days so you may have to beg steal or borrow some cash to fund your habit

You say that you set your card to 800*600 and it made no difference. Please confirm that you actually set it to 800*600 AND set the refresh rate to 60Hz because you have not explicitly confirmed that you set both resolution AND refresh rate!
