Hi guys, as you know I also read the |TG|forums from now and then and they are asking for a few Europlayers to play together. Because the timedifference they have a difficult time trying to fill up a server. They allready know about our server but they would like us to play an evening in a week aswell so they have the server filled with more people.

Let me know if you're interested, they were thinking of an Friday, Saturday or Sunday or maybe a Wednesday. Let me know which would suit you best.

Hi Duvel...

I have been playing on the [TG] servers for a wee while now, and last night there were about 7 of us -=[dMw]=- guys on there...

It's OK, I think, having the occassional 'away day' to another server - especially if it's a slow night on the dMw server - but making it a formal regular day to make up thier numbers is asking a little too much I think!

What about OUR numbers? Are [TG] guys going to come over to the dMw server?

:)

I like the [TG] servers, and the [TG] guys, they very much feel like brothers in arms when it comes to mature play - but in the end they ARE [TG] we we ARE dMw - and as things have been developing lately (with a move to infantry only) we like a completely different pace and style of BF2.

[TG] games are great big, chaotic, fast pased battles where there is not so much time to have the laugh and personal interation that we enjoy on our little dMw server.

I personally don't mind popping over to [TG] once a week - because  I do that already! But I think others may have a different view.

the TG admins are rather more gung-ho than ours. I think I got kicked (may have been a connection drop for all I know though) because I had crept into the oppositions UCB to take out the artillery et al. I had taken out one artillery gun when a tank came sniffing round, and while it had it's back turned I popped a TOW missile into it. I was just forming my own loner-squad to request supplies to get more C4 when I suddenly dropped from the server. If there was a warning I did not notice it, no-one on my side said anything (and there were a few TG tagged players on each side) and they'd had a TG-tagged spec ops hanging around our UCB for half the game who, like myself, killed us in defence. Where do you draw the line? I'd like to think this was just a random disconnection but I'd not dropped when my ping went north of 1200ms... grrr
/rant mode off/

The rest of the game was fun, though I have to say the constant flying/driving/running around the map to try and capture all and sundry bases was a bit tiresome after a while. The difference, imho, between the TG server and a "normal" public was that squad members worked together, chatted a bit, and there was a little bit in the way of sensible orders going on, so for standard conquest mode the TG servers are good (apart from the ping of course...) but still suffers from the headless chicken approach to tackling a map. dMw+AAS (or forced strategy...) for the win :) Go Europe!

I would have a go,ours was empty last night so I did have a wonder around a few servers. What a difference, not really my idea of fun tbh(no one talks to each other). But I will give TG a go,IP's? :)

Coincidentally, I had my first taste of TG on Saturday I think it was. Games dried up on the DMW server so myself and Liberator moved to TG. About 64 a side - manic, fun and I ended up being SL somehow!

Strange though, 64 people in this game, playing in the US servers, and Lib keeps killing me... Again and again and again...  :D

My thoughts... obviously busy, endless capping of flags as you expect in conquest, regular commands from your commander or SL, the squad don't talk as much but thats to be expected, though they did communicate. If I was going to play non-ranked games and dMw was empty I'd go TG. I'd prefer to go with other dMw so we can have a laugh at the same time though  :D

Was the server full?

The TG userbase consists of Supporting Members (i.e. those who pay $9 a month to keep their community alive), and everyone else who plays there for free.

They have a script running that will kick random non-supporting players to free a slot when a supporting member wants a game.  If the server was full - could be what happened to you.

Although, their no UCB engagement rule is a bit confusing at times.  If the tank hadn't actually engaged you in combat, and was just looking around for you, can you actually pop a rocket in its TANGO?  See, grey area.  If the driver whined sufficiently to an admin, I can see why you might have been booted.  But it still sucks.

Some of |TG| have allready checked out our server and offcourse I'm also pimping our server there!
-=[dMw]=- is UKbased and |TG| USbased so there will allways be a slight difference in gamingstyle. Also if I'm correct, the admins will take a look before they kick. -=[dMw]=- has a bit of credit, I got from a reply from Apophis. Also if you enter their TeamSpeak server and say you're -=[dMw]=- it would help out aswell.

For the rest, I'll give some comments to |TG| but I think it would be better if Wolfyn could do this (since he is an admin there).

maybe...the tank hadn't actually fired, but it had spent a minute poking about near where I was trying to hide. It'd just moved away slightly to poke about near some other trees, was facing away from me. I'd have crept away again, but there was this TOW right by me, seemed the natural response to take out the hunter ...anyway, if I do the specOPs thing again on their server I'll try to wait until I've been shot at...even if offence is a better defence - I tend to count someone chasing me as engagement  of course it may have been a co-incidental game crash/drop. When I rejoined I still had my score...

p.s. enough of this fussing, back to the game soldier!

That's a bit disappointing really, TG is not so much like this (I like to hold a flag for an hour...) ;)

As for the UCB rule it is meant to prevent spawn killing. If the enemy tank was active, blow it away. You have to have a valid reason for being in the UCB (so you have to go for the CO assets), but as long as you are not trying to take advantage of your situation to rack up spawn kills it is fair. The UCB's are not 'safe zones'. If you are hunting an enemy helo and it flies back into it's UCB you can still kill it.

Personally I can see nothing 'advantageous' about going up against an enemy tank!

On a side note please rest assured that no-one at TG is trying to steal your guys away from you. We have a lot of respect for DMw (me especially so from the time I have played on your servers and the scrim we had). Thus although you are welcome on TG it would be nice to see some Euro-TG's here too.

Xink

was playing some games with you guys yesterday, though it was very early for tg standards and not many players, that does often result in this "whack a mole" type game, but i still had alot of fun, you guys are a good laugh

Hi Wulfyn, it might just have been that game, my squad did end up driving from base to base on a number of occaisions, but then tactics sometimes dictate this is the way to win. Not a problem, and I did enjoy my first game on TG - as I said I'll definitely go back. I didn't have any TG guys in our squad so comms was fairly minimal, but thats to be expected I guess.

Good to see you on the dMw server mate :)
