I am lucky - I have two kids so I can get away with going into toy shops and watching cartoons because I am a Dad and *have* to! LOL

(Though someone did point out that it was a bit strange that I bought a big Scalextric set two years agon WHEN I have two DAUGHTERS! - I told them not to be sexist and ran away!)

Anyway...Top 10 kids films I like:

1] Harry Potter (...Yes, I'm off to see the new one on Monday!)
2] Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (I love Dick Van Dyke's attempts at 'Cockney'! LOL)
3] The Wizard of Oz (...Right, I know this is supposed to be a popular 'gay' film. But I like it OK?)
4] The Never Ending Story (!)
5] Home Alone (Er...I have no excuse!)
6] Dennis the Menace (I love Walter Matthau's expressions in this!)
7] Jungle Book
8] Wallis & Gromit - The Wrong Trousers (Better than the new one)
9] Santa Claus - The Movie (Makes me go all squidgy!)
10] Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (The Gene Wilder one - NOT the new one)

(Was going to include the animated 'Animal Farm' - but Benny might get the wrong idea!)

------------

PS - Does anyone else think that cinemas should have a special 'adults only' showing of 'kids' movies so we grown ups can watch Harry Potter and the like WITHOUT some screaming, spoilt git of a 8 year old spoiling our enjoyment of teh movie?

that would be great. For me it especially relates to watching Pixar's and Dreamworks' animated films.

Edit: Oh.. and the #1 kids movie I like to watch - even when ppl are looking :) - is 'The Emperors New Groove' by Disney. The last part with the evil cat, the trampoline and the climbing around on the castle is just great :D

MAD_ness

Ice Age
Monsters Inc.
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Finding Nemo
Madagascar

all about my level ..

I really was not born to work ALL my life !!!!!

A Twig

The Snowman (walking in the air) <-- Simply awesome. Still brings a tear even now
Shrek
Shrek 2
Finding Nemo
Bug's Life
Lion King
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Old-school Disney still wins out)
Mulan (I liked that for some strange reason)

..erm, struggling to make 10 here so I'll stop.

...This was the worst thing Michael Myers has been in.

I can see what he was trying to do - out-grinch the Grinch. But it didn't work.

I really think MM is out of his depth with kids - teenagers get his humour, but he has to ditch 50% of his usual material to do kids stuff, which is where he looses out.

My kid's loved 'Wayne's World' - which is the closest to a successful kid's movie he has made (yet it wasn't really for kids).

One kids movie I should have added - but forgot about - was and animated Japanese movie called 'Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi' ('Spirited Away', 2003, Hayao Miyazaki).

"In the middle of her family's move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by witches and monsters, where humans are changed into animals."

This is a classic, which is superior to the 'Wizard of Oz' in many repects.

YOU REALLY NEED TO RENT/BUY THIS MOVIE!

You will thank me.
