1Q2003 Map Rotation Review - New Map Play Testing

Thank you to all those MHPCS members who nominated maps for consideration in this, the first Map Rotation Review of 2003. The Admins have sifted through the maps and come up with what we believe to be 6 good candidates for you to play test in the week 3rd - 7th March inclusive.

CANDIDATES FOR THE MEATHOOK PCS ROTATION

cs_rio - an excellent map that used to be in the N42 rotation. You need stealth and guile to win on this map and along the way it will scare the bejaysus out of you as CTs appear in front of you!

as_rising_sun - Another ex-TG map. Lots of options, always seemed to play well irrespective of team size. Nice details.

cs_shogun - Lovely map that I hope will become a firm favourite on the MH. Lots of routes to use, all leading to the large house in the middle of the map. But there are plenty of entry and exit points to use.

de_747 A brilliant role reversal of the normal cs_747 map, but taking place at 30,000 feet rather than down on the airport tarmac! Might play very well indeed for the team sizes we usually get on MHPCS. Could also play like a dog though - we'll have to wait and see...... /me sticks neck out.

de_mog - A very new map only just released. Looks superb, should be a real creepy one to play, there are soo many hiding places for both teams to use! Should be a blast (pun intended)!

as_hunted - A CS conversion of a HL level (and very popular TFC map conversion). A nice big as_map with a highly open single rescue point for the hossies. I suspect it will play nicely as long as the Ts didn't just sit down and camp the helicopter.

The files will be added to the files section of the dMw website very shortly for you to download. We will be offerring a complete map pack with all of the files, along with separate individual map download links for those on slower connections.

Once the play testing has been completed we will be asking for your feedback by way of a vote. At the same time, we will ask you if there are any maps you wish to remove from the rotation.

We hope the new map candidates meet with your approval and look forward to receiving your feedback.

The dMw 1Q2003 Map Pack has been uploaded to the dMw website (thank you Sadako) and is now ready for download.

Individual map links will be posted later today for those like me on good'ole narrowband

Remember to download the maps and install them in time for the play testing week!

PS: Due to my haste to get the map pack issued, it also includes my pldecal spray. Might be worth changing the name of your own before unzipping the files, then deleting the one the map pack will give you and renaming your original pldecal. If you don't, you'll be spraying my logo on all the maps 8O :oops: Sorry!

I think cs_rio was in N42's Map Pack 2.0. as_rising_sun was in there at some point, probably pre-version 2.0 but I do not have those map packs any more. The others have never been in an N42 map pack.

If people want to try them alone I found a couple of waypoints for bots ..the others i made so dont flame me......btw if anyone finds better waypoints or can make better ones let me know and i will update the pack

Thanks for the feedback BigB, it's nice to that cs_shogun seems to hold excellent potential

/me didn't know that N42/TG had a map pack v3.0 :oops: - I'll dl it real soon

Final Reminder
Play testing starts on Monday and we will be playing nothing but these maps for the rest of the week. So make sure you have downloaded them.

I will post the provisional PCS map limits before Monday evening.
de_747 shoudl be real quick, i.e. don't try to leave the plane :wink:

Ive got all the maps to work except one was wondering if you could help me out and if anyone else has had the same problem.
When ever i try to load up the map it comes up with erroe couldnt open valve/tfc.wad tried reinstalling map still the same error any help?
