Wow, say thanks to her for me :) I don't think I'd ever figure that out myself ;)

Almost three hours of train travel...

Yeah, sorry, that was the best she could figure out.

I hope you'll get it sorted!

Red Thunder: Wanting lift from Southwest england area - Bristol and abouts?
[NT*] Rambo: Wanting lift from Gloucester
Suicidal Monkey: Wanting lift from Central Bristol (or else will drive)
I am provisionally hiring a car then, though the LAN's still some way off and other opportunities may present themselves

Usually end up with something small (3-5 door underpowered hatchback sort of thing - corsa's, Ka's, etc) so I'm not entirely sure of available space...If we're lucky and good at luggage-tetris might be able to transport us 3 car-less peeps from the south-west (suggested route is typically up the M5 which passes by Gloucester) map-reading skills notwithstanding  It's been done before but we were struggling for space somewhat! :)

Red - what area of Bristol are you in and is it easy to get to? Likewise Rambo in Gloucester - are you near the M5 and easy to find? Oh, and do you use TFTs or CRTs?

but then I might not be able to afford the car hire and hotel bill  The £2.99 roads of great britain book will have to suffice. Maybe by the time my phone contract comes up for renewal there'll be a free on contract gps / tomtom capable phone... 8)

I'll happily sat nav the route for you if you want but I'm sure that the RAC one you used last time (?) would be more than fine  :D

I used the patented multimap/aa-routefinder/googlemaps with laser-printer combo last time. Fine until you miss a turning. Figured a proper road map book of the uk wouldn't be a bad buy :)

small update - I've reserved myself a car to hire for that weekend. Atm it'll cost me £66 but that's for a titchy (think ford ka / daewoo matiz) car (sometimes you get a free upgrade though - luck of the draw really!) otherwise it could go up to £75 for a "medium" sized car (think ford fusion) This reservation can be updated/cancelled etc if another lift option comes along but atherwise this will be my plan! :)

I'll check with my mates who are driving up from southampton whether they have room! cross your fingers for a pm!

p.s. did anyone still need a lift from Bristol? Plan to travel up the m5, skirt around birmingham, then East via the M6 towards March...hire car ready and booked but it'll be a tiny car I think

If you have no luck with them, then I guess I could come up later than planned and pick you up. it's only a slight detour for me. Though Southampton is more on the way.

Nothing from Rambo or Red then I suppose?

I'm surprised Rambo isn't up for it - he wanted a lift from Gloucester.... may be worth checking him again.

Should be sorted as DA is sharing a room with me and he'll be picking me up again as he is passing by Stansted (right DA???)
Delan is going to be picked up by Doorman.

Edit: Anyone able to help Mono out?
Edit 2: I think Rambo is tagging along with Alf from BoD although I don't see them both on the LANlist.
