Logitech Formula Force setup May be of interest to Sn00ks. Well done last night mate :)

Thanks Ron. I've printed that off and might play a bit with my settings.
I'll see if I can lose a few more seconds off my lap times tonight.

Damn it's hard work, I was quite bushed after our short foray! Concentrating so hard and watching the screen intently.

Nice bunch of blokes on the server last night, left me eating dust but the help was very useful.

Now to try and remember the braking and turning points.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Another pointer for Logitech users. If GTL is the only racing game you play you don't need to run the Wingman Profiler. But set up your wheel in Game Controllers.
Main things to lookout are:
1  Pedals reported as combined' Make sure there's no tick in the box
2. Enable force feedback(of course   )
3. Overall effects strength set to 100%
4. Spring effects strenght set to 0%
5. Damper effects strenght set to 0%
6. Centreing spring effects strenght untick the box and set to 0%
and finally,
7. If you have a Driving Force Pro. Degrees of rotation 540°. But that is a matter of personal preference.

Hope that helps. With these settings the in game physics take care of the weight and self-centreing etc. This becomes evident when you swop from car to car.

I had a look at the settings available, but as I didn't know what I was doing I thought best to leave it. Know with this information I'll have a go at messing things up  ;)

My Logitech arrived at work this afternoon, just waiting for the software now........

I had my first crashing session last night and managed about a third of a race before being disqualified for being a noob  :(

Thanks to Snooks for help getting started

Great fun and a nice change  :D

@ Sn00ks. Don't be a wuss!  :P
@ TL. Woohoo!  :D
@ Whitey. Was good to see you. You'll be alright. I don't expect you'll be in my patronising section for long.  ;)

My wheel should arrive end of next week. Already got GTL

Thulsa Doom

Game arrived 2day, wheel hopefully next week (had to reorder, as first order wouldn't arrive until April sometime).
Had a test drive @Whitey's the other night and think I may be wasting my time

An interesting thread about DFP setups. Also some food for thought about other wheels as well.

A thread about which things to tweak to get to where you need to be with DFP:

I've just made mine 900° and ingame, set the degrees of steering to 34.5°
In your .PLR file, change the line: "Steer Ratio Speed="25.00000" // Speed at which low speed steering lock override ends (for pit navigation, units are meters/sec, 0.0 to disable"
to 0.00000
This, in my opinion, gives the most realistic steering feel. However, like all these settings, they're only good if you like 'em!
Be seeing you on the server soon eh BB?  ;)
