Respeccing?

I've thought about doing a respec to a prot build.. The last instances (aq20, ZG and such) I've been in, a prot-specced warrior has been needed, and with the new RG2 coming up Im prolly gonna tank, which I won't mind at all.. Just wanted to hear suggestions and responses from you guys (mainly warriors and officers   )

well.. opti is sort of a balance spec...

if you want a real tanking spec.. take a look at ragnarh and my profiles

youlle get some good ideas

basically put 5 in arms(deflection)
10-11 fury( cruetly, unbridled rage(helps with rage, youlle need loads) and that 1 in piercing howl(needed for razor, but comes in very handy)
the rest in prot

You dont really need many points in protection to be a good tank. Look at Dajo, he can tank very well when needed and yet has no points in Protection. I have 9 points in protection, but these are only to increase my armor and defence, helping me last longer. As long as you know what to spam away at, you can keep agro just fine

If you really want a (well) balanced spec for a warrior you could consider the following one, its basicly what sokhar used to level on, its not really up in any tree, but it has the more important skills you need for tanking and is still fairly decent in PVE

i had that before i spent like 1000g on talents resets

but i think Mortal strike is a must
2 things:
PVP = you have a change killing healing B itches
PVE = you can do allot of dmg and make healing mobs do 50% lesser healing (like ZG)

But yes, the tanking bit is not that hard with an Arms / Fury spec...the only thing that differs is:

My Tanking: Keeping the agro off others

Prot specced tanking: Keeping the agro off others while also trying to absorb / parry / block / miss / dodge the most hits.


Basicly you can hold agro slighty better while being prot specced...but you  require alot less healing then I do...

basically i love tanking.. i used to fight for the mt spot on pug's..

so if youre into dealing dam and stuff like that, tanking aint for you

and yes ive been an arms warr before and a crit warr, i didnt change my base talents untill i started to tank a bit in mc

the satisfaction i get when tanking and we kill a boss is something you cant describe
