Wow. Bought it today on a whim. Have now saved Middle-Earth from Sauron, and in the process, somehow compressed about 8 hours of my life into seemingly a few minutes.

So much better than the first game. More depth, better class varieties, good scenarios, several single and multiplayer modes, and you can even create your own heros to fight for you.

Won't  bother with a full review, save to say, if you even remotely like RTS, buy this game.

ahh cool. been wondering what it's like as I loved the first one. I'll get that ordered then :)
*G*

Cake: Four large eggs. One cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Three/four cups butter or margarine. One and two third cups granulated sugar. Two cups all purpose flour. Fish shaped ethyl benzene. Twelve medium geosynthetic membranes. Three tablespoons rhubarb, on fire.

Definitely. It nicely gets rid of all the bits that irritated you about the first one, like fixed land plots for your buildings, and overly similar classes, and keeps the good bits. And there's a whole new awesome storyline as well.

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

Yes, while the main campaign bit is all to do with the Wars in the North, which is only loosely referenced in the Silmarilion and appendicies to LOTR, you can play the LOTR battles in War of the Ring mode. If you really want the battles from the actual film though, buy LOTR:BFME not the sequel. However, BFME2 is so so much better.  :D

ive just finished bfme and the demo of bfme2 and 2 is waaaaaaaay better much more like the amazingness that is red alert

A Twig

BFME2 is a right cracker. Currently playing the Evil campagin, having done all the stuff for the good side, and won a couple of the war of the ring modes. For a real challenge fight a skirmish, and try assualting Minas Tirith as goblins, on the hardest setting

Bloody impossible. See how long it takes for your forces to get completely totalled and post your time here! If you do manage to last over an hour you should be able to win it.
