DKP issue

First of all i would like to state this post is no personal atack on spiritus

i have just noticed a issue in our DKP system i am really getting worked up over
spiritus joined during the garr fight, he was at the enterance not really joining the fight or doing anything ( not his fault again not flaming him) but he DID get DKP for it, so if you come late and join during a boss fight you can get free dkp
for me this is the same as getting dkp while just TANGOing about in MC not healing/doing dmg or what ever it is your class does

i /telled our dkp officer about it and he simply replied this has happened befor and it probably will happen again and there is nothing i am going to do about this

now im not sure how you are feeling about this, but im rather pissed and really tempted to not heal/cleanse anymore, ill get my dkp anyhow it seems...

No you won't. Like I told you, it happened because he got a item from the boss, so to add that item I had to have him in the raid now didn't I? This doesn't mean that you get free dkp when you're not there, I always watch carefully for people not joining into the fight or are AFK.

But since he actually got a item from the boss I had to add him into the raid, this does indeed not happen often it actually hasn't happened before.

you sure as hell made it sound like this happend more often and that this wont be the last time it will happen either

but if this is a one time "glitch" in the system i rest my case and ill get over it

Seriously Marduk, i don't see the problem with Spiritus getting DKP for the Garr fight yesterday at all!

First of all, I think the DKP is meant more like a "reward" for spending your time on the raid, and where you are in the instance at the time doesn't really make out much of a difference.  You might than also say that those waiting in queue outside should get some DKP as well, but they musn't be there, they are free to go do other stuff.

And what you say about "this is the same as getting dkp while just TANGOing about in MC not healing/doing dmg or what ever it is your class does", that's just plain b***shit.  What would you do?  Like give people DKP relative to how much dmg/healing they hand out, or how much damage they tank???


Try not to let the raids be about the DKP.  They way I see it, both DKP and the items you buy with it is just a nice bonus in addition to the fun and challenging experience we have from the raid

are you trying to say that people would get less dkp if they die early in a fight?

Kreuz would be very very sad about that

we could take it a step further of course, you get less dkp if you tank less damage, but you tank less damage cos you died, thus, pass that dkp penalty on to the priest who didn't heal the tank, but ah! the priest got interrupted by a knockback because a rogue drew aggro, rogue drew aggro cos feint was resisted...

Well , it has something to do about what you think is right, piss around and dont do sheit in Mc, you may get caught, but then again you maybe won't. Then think of it, is it "okay" for yourselv to take up a spot , for someone who could have contributed 100% more than you? It's all about the way you look at things, the dkp system has flaws, everything has but its the most accurate so far.
