Can't say I am truly happy with the amount of folks available for matches, there are so many times that there are plenty available ... but come match time we struggle to get a match team together .....both me/hippy spend valuable time checking out the possibility of matches on ed, by picking decent oppo ... I know how much my missus is on my case when I am checking out clans, and I would like that to be done for some purpose.. not just a waste of time

I have been keeping a record of the folks who turn up week in week out and there are only a handful of us (eight) who have managed to reach double figures in matches over the last 4 months, thats whilst playing in 42 matches !!!! ( only five of us have played in over 20 matches )

now I believe that between us 8 we have good team spirit, and have a fairly good understanding of each others strengths...this would be a shame to go to waste

I seriously think we either need to recruit from the bravo section those of whom would turn up ......or go inactive.... or even pull out of ed ....

I personally dont want to do the last ... but ATM I just see so little interest in CZ from our ranks that I am seriously contemplating the usefulness of having a CS.CZ section at all !!!!!!!!

whats even more annoying is the amount of time I have just spent trying to get us int the sgl league/ladder as well ...

I can only speak for me ...

We have lots of resons for the decline in active members. The split in games we support / the fact its an old game / peoples lifestyle ect. Dont get too upset that people do move to other games or stop match play it will always happen

The glory days of a full CZ sever every night have gone... For me source would have slightly more interest but at the end of the day its going to be the same HE/Flash combination down the same tunnel each round

.... As you said we only have a few active (hardcore) players that want to play matches so maybe just reduce the number of matches to suit the people that want to play

It would be a big shame to loose our competitive section and hats of to you for all the work you are are doing keeping it running

Maybe a bit of a spring clean to see who wants to be active in ED is in order. (As you have already posted)

Thoughts :)
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning. It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion

Yeah, a couple of valid points there.... but when ya get comments like "wheres all the matches ???" posted in cz related posts and then them people actually put themselves down as available..... and then dont even turn up at all on the server at ANY time that night .....if I was to say its frustrating .... THAT would be an understatement  :ranting:

yes I suppose you could say we are classed as old time hardcore fans of good ol' CS but I do really still enjoy the game and it truly is a shame that its not withstood the test of time as well with dMw as it has with other clans.... as they can still boast what we once had.....  :(

folks who are willing to turn up and play the game !!  <_<

It has been posted many times for folks who are interested in  playing for dMw in matches to let their names be known ... there is a slight rise in interest, then if we get a couple of bad results the interest wains again ...

dunno, I am VERY close to throwing in the towel and maybe calling it a day ...

It wouldn't make a difference, the same people would turn up regardless of wether there were 1 or 4 matches a week.

I can see this becoming more of a problem as we get into the better weather.  The 9PM match will probably be OK but the earlier ones may have to be put off until the darker nights return.  Don't throw in the towel though MAD_Ness, those of us who play regular matches appreciate the work you do.  I really think we need to get on Razer more instead of jumping on BOD and try and grow the number of people playing on the dMw CZ server. This would hopefully get some to join dMw and eventually be available for matches.

I like the idea of promoting a couple of Bravo's to help out and think Scot would be a good place to start as he is a regular CZ player and seems really keen.

Therein lies two problems...... which have become evident recently.....

1. If one or two of the main "hardcore"(for want of a better word) are not available we have to scratch around for numbers to make us up ... I was trying to grab the attention of two or three on msn, whilst posting on the forum 10 minutes before the first match on Sunday....

2. When the "hardcore" players are not available then some ( not all, it MUST be understood) part time players come in and have no idea what is expected of them or of the tactics... because they havent turned up for any practice/training or they haven't read the tactics section in the forum . and when we get completely "dicked" in the match they wonder what the fuss is all about and dont bother again ...

result: .........no win scenario ... :(

I admit i have been letting you down nij, but over the last month or since getting back to this godforsaken country illness has been rife due to tummy bugs from the kids and the missus being very ill. I am not trying to make excuses its just how its been..I have tried to be available and planned to play but some had a habbit of scuppering it.
This being said ive updated my availableness and I will be playing if you still want me to.

To my mind there are another 3....maybe 4 who would be interested in the step up from bravo status ....

perhaps a whisper in their shell likes might do the trick !! ;)

Sorry Jas/VV I am not trying to point an accusing finger at anyone ... and as such I wouldnt/don't  expect folks to air their apologies in public ... it is just a general gripe and moan at our present state ..  ;)

I just feel as a gaming community we have more than the present "hardcore" that are still playing CZ .... but these people would rather spend time on other servers than trying to resurrect our own...and yes I too prefer to play real people than Bots ... but if we get more than 6 on a server we can dump the bots .... and Razer is a public so new folk would turn up ... if they act like idiots ....they will get the usual response.

I'm all for having a mini recruiting session so long as we approach people we know are going to fit in and have shown commitment to dMw in the past.

Far as I can tell, current Bravo roster list is as follows.

Apoc
Argonaute
Barley
BIG-Glen
big-paddy
BLOOD_THIRSTY
Cain
CoolHand
DeadMike
Dewey
GRIM_REAPER
killcrazy
Maus
mono_dna
Ninja_Freak
outofsync
Peppster
Phog
poetichunter
Ranger
scot
SLoWHaND
Snah
Sulky_uk
Swoop
Toxteth
Xedos

Out of all those I could possibly pick 3 members that I personally would be happy to see in Charlie company, those being BT, Cain and Scot.  All 3 have been around long enough to know how we operate and just what we stand for. (assuming Cain still plays CS that is)

QuoteThe existing membership structure will remain unchanged however it will now be the role of the Section Admin to promote to Bravo/Charlie within their own section. The Head Admins and all other Section Admins will have the right to veto any proposed promotion.

The structure is in place to bring members in Charlie section but are people aware that it actually exists?

Hippy

Lets not forget it's up to the said Bravos to decide they want to become Charlie.  :narnar:

I dunno what Cains waiting for, hes been a member since '02.

Don't forget Toxteth. Apocs been around a while too but i havent seen him play that much CZ.
