mmmmmmm

Strange decision from Sven ....we look REALLY thin in the striker department ....

The main two are crocked with one looking really doubtful and the other only a couple of warm up matches to prove his fitness ..... the "cover" for these two are completely untried !!!!!!!

Is he REALLY still trying to win it ??????

sheepy

to be honest it is only football which is a big girls game and the only good thing is that there will be a lot of ppl out getting pissed.

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

Dewey

I have similar concerns Madness.

I'd have thought he would have Defoe down as a certain with our current striker injuires - instead he's saying Joe Cole could plays as a striker as thats his position as well as midfield??! Really? I've never Cole play as a striker   Downings in because in case he does use cole as striker.

I would like to see Walcott go, he could be another Rooney or Owen, but I would only bring him on as super sub to give him some experience and if we had the game won. To rely on an untried 17 yr old who has played no matches in the premiership over defoe, bent etc is an odd decision.

I'm also surprised to see Hargreaves in there again.. I've never been impressed with him ever. He seems very average - still good to see Lennon in there.

Shame Rooney and Owen are injured, we've got a cracking squad and quality throughout - but you do need a special player too who can dictate play like Rooney, Ronaldinho,  Riquelme etc.

Hippy

I also realised what a crappy strike force we have without our star players.

Crouch.. :eyebrow:
walcott..

Its a good job we've got a decent midfield. Lampards scored more goals than many of the premiership strikers.

You can have Ruud van Nistelrooij for a couple of

I'm amazed the FA had such trouble finding a new England manager with all this talent in abundance.

Benny

Peter 'Box 'o' Tricks Crouch.

Dear God. Well, he's going for broke, let's hope it pays off. Don't get Jenas, don't understand Defoe....

Have faith in the guy. He have taken you to the World Cup and you never even thought he would manage that ...

I do hope England wins the world cup ... would be nice to shut up all the bloody reporters that have been on him since the start.

It's the British way. Odd eh?

Dingo

Defoe is a one trick pony whilst Walcott has the pace to unsettle defenders and will have no fear of the big occasion...because he hasn't played in one!!. Add to that the lanky Crouch who has blossomes at Liverpool and would be the perfect partner for Walcott\Owen\Rooney with his knock downs then you have a classic "English pairing"

Joe Cole for the win as he has matured in the last two seasons and reminds me of Paul Scholes at his peak.

plus of course Sven wants the runner up spot in the Group (which Sweden will win) as the draw will see the winner up against Brazil before the Final....which of course Italy will win this year!! :)
