Dajo

Well, lately i'm being whispered alot, and directly and indirectly suggested I should respec prot, that warriors shouldnt do DPS, and I should wear a shield.

At the moment the situation is as follows:

Protection warriors: Ragnarh - Gorion - Rexon - Opticalrush

Arms warriors: Umbra - Dajo.

Would it really benefit the raid if I did so?

Thanks for your time!

Here are some screenies to show what I "can" do, not to brag or something.

my suggestion is only to keep the style of "play your class" u prefer, there is no point to raid w/ a spec u don't like, and about what u hear from others u should take care only if is an OFFICER who says "zmg respec prot u noob short thing". At least if u gain aggro u don't get complains, u wear plates :P
not like a wannabe tank like me and kreuz  :lmfao:

Luthor

In an Utopia we wouldnt need another Prot Tank Dajo... But seeing some of our warriors, for various reasons dont show up for Raid we might need it in a near future, but for now Having Fury Warrior along, also have some great usages and options that a Prot tank dont have. :) Like Mortal Strike on Ebonroc, damn cheaty but works great.

my suggestion would be the following

keep enough talent points in what ever skills it is you need so you CAN tank if it is needed but that you can keep doing that amazing dps to :)

same story as with the pallies here really you dont need 18 healers at all time, now  6 prot tanks would be usefull at some points but often 5 would be standing around doing "nothing" or tickeling the critter to death with lame dps
read "nothing" as in what ever you tanks to when your not tanking something really big and really deadly to clothies

i always found dajo tank enough for the jobs he would get
from a healers point of view

Well duk maybe you don't notice a big diffrence when healing him and that is mostly because of his gear. Gear is they main part for a warrior to tank but spec helps also. The main fights to think about when it comes to warriors being tank spec or not are the heavy hitting bosses.

On Broodlord and Twin Emperors not having imp Shield Block has extremely much to say since if you block an attack it can't be crushing or critical. Twin Emps and Broodlord can do 7-12k combos in 2-5sec. Having Imp Shield Block decreases damage taken by almost 6% and those combos will happen alot less.
Same can be said about fights like Ossirian where we struggle with keeping the tanks up. It isn't a lack of healing or the tanks doing a bad job but it is the unlucky combos and possibly gear in some cases. But having 15points in Protection would make it alot easier for a healer.

Now Dajo is most likly not going to be tanking Twin Emps and for Broodlord he is an offtank so it doesn't have alot to say but having the general 15points in protection always helps especially when it comes to the 20man instances where every warrior has to tank at some point.

I want to know if Deep wounds have been fixed and stack as 1Debuff or not cause if it hasn't then a much bigger concern would be the amount of warriors speccing Deep Wounds. Now deep wounds is an amazing PvP skill and increases your DPS alot but it decreases overall Raid DPS. If we just look at Dajo's numbers he is putting Deep wounds up every 4hits and that is about every 8-10seconds. This means that he has 1-3Deep wounds up at all times and with 2-4 other warriors having the same it is 3-9Deep wounds on a target. This means that you can go upto 9 out of 16Debuff slots with only Deep wounds wich isn't more then 20DPS Dot, Now a standard raid would want at least CoE, CoS, JoW, JoL and possibly hemo and gift of arthas on the target not to forget that those Warrior Dots are crap compared to warlock and priest dots. If a raid had a hemo rogue and the tank was using Gift of Arthas and those debuffs were pushed of by Dots from deep wounds or fireballs the raid DPS will fall drasticly.

A dagger rogue has about 1hit per 0.7second
Sword Rogue 1hit per second
dual wield warrior 1hit per second
tanking warrior 1hit per 1.5seconds
2hand warrior 1hit per 2seconds
hunter 1hit per 1.5seconds

now lets say you have 5dagger rogues, 2tanks, 3 2hand warriors and 5hunters. you are reducing every dagger rogues DPS by 22, the tanks DPS by 10, the other warriors DPS by 7.5 and the hunters DPS by 10. That is a reduction of 200raid DPS just by knocking of 2useful debuffs and replacing them with 20DPS dots. Now those debuffs wouldn't be off for long, the rogue will hemo again within 5seconds and the Arthas debuff comes fast up again also. But raid buffs that don't come fast up again are curses from warlocks. I haven't Calculated how much those curses increase the casters DPS but it is alot or the healing and mana regen you loose when judgements are knocked off or think about if sunder armor is knocked off it doesn't affect the aggro but it reduces the DPS of all physical attackers again.

0/1/13, vote looks pritty final, allthough it might be handy to have another tank at times, i dont think we need it bad enough for you to give up your dps. And you do a decent job tanking when required.

Umbra

As I saw it when the new ranks came in, a Quango of officers would decide if a respec was needed. and of course it was taken as part of the rules to accept it in good grace if it was called for, so, WE both know arms/fury is alot of fun. so keep the spec, unless it is officially called for. Anyone else /w it to you doesn't know the situation, and is only /w rather than guild/raid chat because they don't want other peopel to know how foolish they sound.

Teni, there may be an increase in healing necessary in exchange for good dps, but isn't that the same as the other dps classes? locks, mages, rogues? , only he does more dps than they do AND has better armour.

My only agreement is that things like broodlord/ossirian fights could mean the difference between life and death, however, we can take it back to, if it is NEEDED then an officer will ask&pay

we only raelly take aoe dmg, which is usually magic based, and armor wont make a difference to this. the only time we'd actually take physical damage, is if we overagro, whcih dps warriors are far more likely to do than a rogue due to their lack of agro management skills.

Yeah, but to counter his lack of agro decreasing skill, he's a fudging steelbox, most warriors are. Stay Dps Dajo, it'll increase your fun and Raid dps, and atm we have kickass warriors, tanks are awesome & dps warrs. are awesome.
