This poll only concerns match play and match practice.  The in-game comms last night were next to useless, so I think we should use Teamspeak as a backup. What do you think?

JB

Hmm... I wanna vote yes, but because I wanna see what the quality is like not because I wanna win more.

Im not fussed, it would have been good last night, it would have been nice when the clan 'forgot' to turn alltalk off, (calling everything over mic, they could hear it, we lose?) its also useful when we die, talking to our team about where they were how many were there and what guns they had, all vital points to winning a game. (not having a dig or anything but has bf2 got alltalk? im sure that helkps to winning a  game.

its also dead people talking, but only for about 3 seconds while youre dead on the floor. not as if you can follow the other team around ghosting.
Its a thing that would help, and now nearly every clan/community has it.

Is it time for a change?
and...  i wanna win more. dMW will be 1st one day.

I guess I really shouldn't be commenting here because I don't play matches, in fact I rarely play CZ. But I do feel strongly about using TS. When you're dead, you're dead! You can't talk, end of story. In my view, it's the thin end of the wedge cheating wise, I mean, where do you draw the line in the 'I want to win more' stakes? The only reason TS isn't on the banned list is because it can't be detected. The report on a match the other day went on about someone with an AWM who was seriously good enough for aspersions to be cast. My guess is they were using TS.
Even if you used TS with the reasonable intention of better quality, you'd be a bloody saint not to warn your teamie "There's one behind the crate on your left" (When you're dead that is)
At the end of the day, it's not the dMw way. It's a slippery slope you'd be on.

At the very least, when you win (which is not that rare an event) you know it was by playing FAIR  :)

/Gob now shut.

Im not too fussed.

If we are allowed to use TS it could cause more problems than its worth. Leaving a player to do their thing without having the rest of the team screaming 'SAVE YOUR GUN!!' is important and im sure nobody wants to hear the cries of 'ffs' when a player is frustrated.

In matches you can only view what your alive team mates see. The use of TS will only allow the team to call what they saw before they died, and give a little helpful advice such as "pick up the AK!". The whole 'but it's cheating' argument is weak.

This is besides the point, The voice quality on servers is inconsistant, it was a real hinderance last night.

Personally if the use of TS could be detected i doubt it would be banned.

The use of TS does not tell you where to aim or when the opposition is about to walk around a corner. Only a wallhack or a graphic driver exploit would give you these abilities.

Grimnar

I don't like it.

But it can help you alot in a match.

When i was In BoD and started up their matches they also used TS. And with every match we used it. And it works alot sometimes. Your dead teamm8's may only follow you but they can sometimes hear more then the one alive.

JB

I would add it takes the pressure off trying to scream "There's 6 of em rushing Long A" while they're bearing down on you, you know your gonna die shortly but can have a go anyway without the pressure of trying to kill them and finding the mic key.

DuVeL

I'd say use it. This was the second time we came upon a server like that and I really couldn't figure out what was being said.
As in the "cheating"part. I don't see it as cheating but it's more of a helping hand so you can say where your opponent was coming from.

As Ice mentioned: I've got my headset set pretty loud so I can hear sounds coming from far. Sometimes in matches this can be usefull aswell saying where the player is coming from.

So for me:
-It can be very usefull if we use it the correct way.
-Loads of clans use it and when we say we use ingame voicecomms we get laughed at sometimes. Last nights VC's were really crappy and I was one of the guys who said: I think we might need to reconsider TS again.

Iam with Hippy on this, how can it be classed as cheating?
If other clans are using it then why shouldnt we ?

Cheating may be too strong a word, but if the game is designed for you not to speak to team mates when you're dead then you are using more than the game provides.

RizZy

The thing that gets me with us not being able to use it in CS & the you can't talk to each other when your dead arguement, is the fact that everyone seemed happy for us to use it in BF2 matches so everyone could speak to each other, whatever squad you were in - not part of the game as far as I know, so whats the big differance to using it in CS? from what I can see either way your using an external program to communicate with team mates in a way the game doesn't allow you to.

That argument is a bit thin. There are clams that cheat properly as you well know but I don't hear anyone saying 'why don't we?'
If dMw don't keep up the standards, we might just as well not bother. After all, why did you all join dMw in the first place? Because we play fair!
But I suppose it'll go the way most things go. The 'professional' foul is ok isn't it?
Winning is everything? In which case I'm well out of order and I'll say no more.

Ron, why do you have an extra voice serverthing for your game then if it's not in the game itself?
