20 Man Raid Loot System

The Commanders have lately been working on new loot systems for both AQ and ZG. The ZG system we have been trialling for the last couple of weeks is a sort of proof of concept for the proposed new system. The ZG trial system is based on reputation levels to measure attendance. However, as AQ rep can be farmed outside of the instance, actual attendance must be measured.

Our goals were to improve over the old system in the following ways:

  • Reward the most frequent raiders with priorities on certain loot.
  • Give alt characters a chance to obtain epic loot, while still giving a small priority to main characters.
  • Ensure rare recipes stay within the guild.
  • Encourage signups to open up the possibility for a second concurrent raid group.
The Basics of the System

The principle is the same as the ZG trial system; a main character has to do x amount of raids before they can get priority, and a alt character has to do x+y amount of raids before they can get an equal priority on epic loot. With roughly 3k rep per ZG clearance, that means a main must raid ZG 3 times, and an alt 7 times before being able to get epic loot priority.

Attendance Points

  • For someone to sign up, they get one "attendance point" (AP).
  • If they enter the instance, they receive a second AP.
  • A final point value between 0 and 1 will be awarded according to the proportion of the raid that the person attends.
Three complete raids would give 9 attendance points, and seven would give 21. These are the required attendance points for mains and alts to get priority on epic loot.
Attendance points are unique for each instance, i.e. having 21 attendance points in ZG does not get you loot priority in AQ also.
If people are not available after joining the queue and not cancelling, their signup will be cancelled. Please remain contactable while waiting in the queue and let us know if you are on a non-guild alt.

Specific Loot Rules

ZG/AQ Quest Item Loot
People with required reputation for the loot get priority for the items.

ZG Trinket
Priority given to people according to who has the most number of trinket parts.
If no one has any other trinket parts, priority is given based to people with AP values of: 40 > 20 > 10 > 5 - this is roughly equivalent to what AP would be achieved at the reputation levels.

ZG Enchant
These are 20 AP for first, 40 AP for second. To be able to roll you MUST have the item you want enchanted. If no1 is Revered/Exhalted a second roll will be called for.

AQ20 Skill Books
People within 6 AP of the top person who needs the book may roll for it.
People who are not in the raid may request skill books from AQBank at any time, as long as they have 10 AP.

Recipes/Plans/Schematics/etc
First drop will be assigned to a member of the raid of Commander or higher rank in the guild.
Subsequent drops are open to all.

Epic Items
Mains with 9 attendance points and alts with 21 attendance points are given first priority. After that, open to all.

Blue Items
No priorities given, open to all.

Items will not be given class priorities (other than what is already specified in the item descriptions), however if such a situation as a rogue wanting a +healing cloak arises, exceptions can be made by the raid leaders.

This system will come into action on the 24nd of July. Until then current loot rules apply.

There will be a new signup site coming soon, which will be able to accomodate for the new AP system, and where you will be able to view your current AP.

Edit: Date of completion moved 2 days to get the new sites graphics completed...

Since it will not be fair to reset the whole system. We will convert your rep lvl with the zandalaar tribe in AP.
For the AQ system we will use the gathered info on the signup site to calculate your AP there.

Marduk

sounds like a really nice system, not sure i understand it 100% but it seems to have a good bases

i just have one question, does class have any effect on priority's
yeh the endless discussion of hybrid classes against "origianal classes"

but in general *thumbs up* keep up the good work

Gorion

and lets say a person who signed up didnt show up, and a player who was online(but didnt sign) at that moment took his spot, how will that work, since that player didnt use the signup system?
Guild Wars 2 - Characters: Dragelis / Estril / Viliona
Battle.net - LydonB#2167
Warframe - LydonB

Torir

People that signed up but don't show up, they will get 0 AP, unless they stated that they would be late. People that didn't sign up and join the raid would get 2 AP, and a proportion of an AP for the time they're in the raid.

Akall

Nice and fair!
Akall - Night Elf Druid, Aszune

Neff

Duck has a good point, imo thoose with the most points should get priority, exept when a hunter wants a caster item. But Pally's / warriors should get treated equally, even though it must suck to loose a Zin'Rokh to a pally xD

As long as the item compliments the player's class and talent spec, then there won't be a problem

Also

Blue Items
No priorities given, open to all.

together with the point torir mentioned there makes if you have the needed AP and its an upgrade in your opinion you can roll for it. We can make exceptions ofc if its weird some ppl rolls (rogue rolling on healing gear).
