Not actually an add on, but very interesting...

Doorman, we need team sounds!

BigFatCat

We already have team sounds: Grass cutting, rev limiters in missed shifts, swearing and panel beating.
My personal favourite is LX4/6 tyres going sideways across tarmac into gravel and then the dull thud of hitting something very immovable, followed by a four letter voice outburst.

As I understand it you can tweak the sounds YOU hear. Don't get too attached to them though as they'll be overwritten by the next patch. Interesting, as you say.

Yes, but I also understand that the sounds can be shared and until that new version comes, some people will have fun developing new sounds for the cars.

Not that I am that interested. (anybody got a good LX4 engine?) :)

After a conversation with Oldie about tweaked car sounds last night when we generally poo-pooed the idea, I thought I'd better go and check out them out. (always a good thing to know what you're poo-pooing)
Well! First off, go get them HERE. Extract them to your engine folder.(This is an egg Grandma, and I'm gonna show you how to suck it.) You can type stuff into the chat window ingame to get them to work or...Make a backup folder and put all the original files in it (Still suckin', ole lady?) Then rename all the 'Dave' files to 'default' and job done. (Damned egg mus' be 'bout dry by now!)
I haven't tried all the cars but the UFR put a huge grin on my face. :D
Give 'em a go.
The original thread Generally good reception I'd say.

Aaaaagh!  It's not good.(imo) backup backup backup first. I didn't and I lost a whole bunch of great stuff.  Distance markers. Dunlop tyre bridge, various ads. I won't get to bed before 3am now.

Here is v3 of DaveWs Soundpack. Should be according to new standards (patch v2).

Not tried it myself yet.

Won't be to everyone's taste, nothing ever is. But I like it - even the spotted kerbs :)

Alterative Westhill hi-rez http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=21393 To my eye he's got the grass and road spot on. Grass doesn't look so 'manicured' and the road not so 'textured'. If you've got real ads leave out WST_ADS1 and 2.dds and WST_tyres1.dds. Kerbs, not much to choose between Taavi's and Electrik Kar's
