For the first time since starting to play on your server I finished playing last night in quite an irritable mood. This had nothing to do with ending up dead for the majority of time/maps ( which I do most nights). This had to do with players not abiding by the rules and playing PCS in the manner/spirit in which I have become accustomed to it being played on your server, I know several other players voiced dissatisfaction on several maps about players appearing out of bounds and shooting them from unexpected locations. I also saw messages come up from admins who were trying to correct what was going on but were only subjected to abuse. I know it's only a game at the end of the day but a few nasty people spoiled what is normally a good nights fun where good natured ribbing is accepted by all and is in fact part of the fun.

This is not a post I am enjoying writing but felt I should at least publish how I felt about last night. :x

Thanks for your comments Brass.
We apologise for the hastle, and the situations will be dealt with.

mmm. People were starting to whine a lot last night (I think you're talking largely about cs_rio?) plus I was getting shot very early every round so I left before I was tempted to join in the slagging match that was starting up

Let me be the first to apologise to you and any other PCS regular who had their evening's enjoyment spoiled. You're not alone in your comments or your feelings brass.

There's two other threads ongoing: one in the dMw private section and one in the admin's section.

Let me tell you now that we take this disregard of the PCS rules and ethics *very* seriously and it has prompted a couple of initiatives to ensure that, as far as possible, this won't be allowed to happen again.

Firstly, the two players concerned are about to find that they're banned from the server.

Secondly, steps are underway to implement a change in the way PCS players register and the way access is granted to the servers. The intention is to stop the password being given out to non-registered players who may not fully appreciate what the PCS community is all about.

So apologies again and I hope my answers above will go some way to convince you that we take the issue of poor conduct very seriously.

I haven't logged out from the initial post yet and you have already replied in the most positive way. I would just like to say I know the admin takes the well being of the server very seriously so please don't apologise to me for other peoples behaviour which is almost impossible to control during a game. I enjoy your company and I enjoy the majority of your players.

I think my sig. puts it in context

i think your talking about me here, after just finding that i am banned from the server (see my other post).

i understand that i was 'out of bounds' on one or two occasions, and when i was warned i swiftly returned back inside the house (on shogun), and another time when i was actually chasing the ct who was rescuing the hostages, i assumed this was not breaking the rules since it was the last ct, and if id of left them they would have rescued the hozzies.

dont get me wrong, as suicidal_monkey can tell you, im not usually a disruptive player, and i like to play to the rules.

what you have said above about 'spoiling peoples enjoyment' i believe you are not referring to me, as i cant see how you came to this conslusion. if you are, then please enlighten me on how.

thank you

There were three people that got banned. So no asyl, everything isn't regarding just you.

"It was a united decision of the admins after your performance last night."

Hang on a sec. What exactly do you mean by my performance?

I admit i didnt know the bounderies of the map (cs_shogun), and in a matter of fact it was the first time i ever played the map, so i didnt know the routes either.

I have thouroughly read through the 'What is PCS?' page and i apologise for breaking the rules, mistakenly, but nevertheless.

I only recently discovered the Meathook server after being referred to it by a friend who gave me the sign-up link. The first game i played was on cs_italy, one of the best public games i have played for a LONG while. I believe that my miscourse last night was due to the fact that i was playing on an obscure map, and i apologise again for being out of bounds.

/me breaks down in tears

Your apology and explanation are noted and welcomed. It would be a shame to ban a player who truly likes the way PCS is played and we don't do it lightly.

I will discuss your reply with the other admins and will PM you when we have something to tell you. No promises. The admin had a gutful last night and his decision will determine the outcome.

In the meantime ...

Please do yourself a favour and read the guide on PCS. When you fully understand the way PCS is meant to be played then you will also understand why the behaviour of three players last night (including yourself) caused such bad feeling.

What OB said above.

I still feel that I should reply you.

4. How do I know where to go?
Identify your team leader, and follow him, or do what he says. In order for a team to work well together. When following, stay in line. Don't try to push your way around your teammates and/or leader. When the leader stops, unless they make motions to move forward and/or tell you to. [...]
You should also know the boundaries for each map. If you are unsure where you are allowed to go or not ask your team before

If you don't know the map ask. We have on many occations stopped the first round for a walkthrough of the map. We are willing to help out, but you need to speak up and let all players in game know that you don't know the map. If there aren't admins around the regulars of PCS will help you out.

This is a very special community and we will protect it when it is threatened.

Thank you for your apology.

I think it's also important to point out the problems that can occur when registered PCS players hand out the server passwords to their friends.

Please don't do it.

Im not gonna start a flame here but i DID ask my team if where i was allowed, on many occasions. Remember the 'batcave'? Also when playing as T on a cs map, you cant follow a team leader as you are defending, not storming.

The facts still remain. You broke rules that you agreed upon when signing up for PCS. You were warned and kicked on two separate occations. We followed the standards for admins and this is the result.

If you feel that your case has not been resolved in a satisfactory manner, please contact adminjudge ( AdminJudge@deadmen.co.uk ) or that you send further comments via e-mail (or PM) directly to oldbloke@deadmen.co.uk .
