Yesterday I was accused of cheating while playing on a public server with Armitage, Albert and Sqounk. The non-dMw players were running around all over the place and I don't think that they even knew that they could walk. I was walking the entire time and used sound combined with radar to "spot" enemies.

If you have a fairly new soundcard you probably have EAX or A3D. If possible turn it on in counterstrike and you will get a better stereo perspective i.e. you use the sound to pinpoint the direction of the enemy. Try it on a public server and you will see how many easy kills you will get.

Sound is very inportant. for example, you can even hear CT's in the sewers of miltia. Which is very handy in 1v1 or 2v2 games.

When you turn A3D or EAX on, you are able to hear the enemy from approximately 30% further away. That is one huge motherload of an advantage.

1. Turn it on.
2. Get a buy script.

I didnt like EAX personaly, found it harder to tell where people where when i tried it!

how do you turn on the 3d sound for CS? I've got one of them ujerby sound card deals!

Go into configuration then Audio and there should be a check box to enable/disable EAX. NB this might be under the advanced part of the audio menu (I can't remember just now)

Actually I don't use the 3D sound as it isnt working properly in cs. Probably something with the drivers ...
