Goings-on @ Bod

I don't know whether you are aware of the goings-on over at Bod recently...

One of their regs, Bully, got banned from the server. He posted that he'd had enough and this was followed in the next few days by loads of regs leaving the clan due to "events"

not being in the loop, I could only guess what had gone on...I surmised (correctly as it turns out) that there had been accusation of cheating followed by huffs and spat dummies.

An explanation has been posted with a link to bully's post in the helpdesk...

(i no i shud of done this yester dday but i was a ****ed off and i might of sed something i shudnt have )(i have spoken to bleep on skype )i was banned yesterday for hacking and if u have a demo that shows me hacking then fine(i wud like to c it and if u want i dont mind if u show it to ed ...i was scanned by neth and was clean and was told that was the last !!! but ovo not... i am happy to have another scan and if u want me2..... i think there is an ed scan thing ill do 1 of them if u want me 2 as well ... i did think it used to be banned then have a scan but in this case it isnt ...basicly spotty banned me on gut instinct (i no when u put alltalk on and said "if u look thro the walls like that again ill ban u" but u made that public u cud of done it better thats y its kicked off.... then after u sed that i huffed and then bleep said "i dont think u shud laugh/huff at an admin" but im not sure wat u think i was surpost to do (Because i wasnt looking thro the walls) then 2mins l8r i was banned and another think b4 any1 says anything yes there is maps called spam spots that i got off a web site that every1 uses to look at different places where to spam heres the web site(btw its for cs 1.6).......... http://www.gotfrag.com/cs/files/736/ dont think thats hacking(btw i am not the only 1 to use this doris temp laura will comfirm that they have seen/used these maps to look at the different spam spots)... i have alot of respect for bod and the community but i think this is it now.... i wud like to be unbanned as i have made alot of friends on the web that play on bod and also because u have no proof that i was hacking but ovo thats up 2 u hopefullly ill c u all arnd GL in ED and dont forget HAVE FUN

I don't have a clue what they are talking about regarding spam spots, spam maps etc. but the thing I was most concerned about is that Doris was named as using these.

please put my mind at ease....also can someone explain these spam maps for me?:blink:

It's just maps with the spots that people are likely to sit in when guarding the bomb/hostages etc.  So it's worth shooting at these places (through doors/walls) even if you don't know for sure someones there.  We look at things like that during match practice to see what walls can be shot through and the best places to guard from.

I feel a bit better about it, cheers Whitey...I was just a bit concerned that if an admin on a pubby was so worried about it that he banned a reg, then if 1 of our guys (as he was then) was using it, it  would reflect badly on dMw.

I'm still not 100% sure what these spam maps are....are they a walk-through or a file you install into steam?

1 thing i will say is that i myself use the aforementioned as help for 1.6. Most of them are now rendered useless anyway due to the fact that the CZ versions of these maps have less spam mosts [mostly boxes and doors only now]. As the server would have to run the specific "spam_spot" map there is no chance of anyone using them on the server. they are a good laugh if u get a few people on =]

just thought id explain what the spam_spot maps are. Basically the "spam_spots" maps come in a few flavours[note these are all i know of]-
Train
Nuke
Inferno
Dust2
CPL_Mill
Dust[i think]
THESE ARE ALL 1.6 MAPS NOT THE _CZ VERSIONS

The thing that makes these maps special is that any object you can shoot through is see through. So you're friend could be hiding behind the wall in B and you could see them from Mid. THESE ARE NOT HACKS. You learn some very interesting things. If you have good ingame sounds and can remember these spots it can pay off in normal play.If you play 1.6 maps alot then these can be very useful but for the CZ versions they arent too helpful as mosts spots are gone =[

Hope that helps some of you who werent quite sure what these maps are.

Pff ...I can remember long discussions about spamming doors on our server.. spamming spots on maps takes the pee. :thumbsdown:What will be out next maps with a dado rail at head hight:taz:

A spam map is just a picture of the map with the spam points marked.  I haven't seen one myself but they have been discussed during match practice.

Can I just say that these tactics have not and never should be used playing TCS within the community.  

They have been used in matches, if this should continue needs to be discussed and this is as good a time as any....   Opinions please.
