Hi folks.

I'm helping a friend set up a linux CS server, and we wanted to get some bots running on there for testing / training.

We tried podbot (works nicely on my Windows PC) but the linux versions were pretty much impossible to compile.
So we ended up using RealBot - which is apparently installed, the dll is linked in the config file (just like podbot), but nothing seems to load and the console commands don't work.

Do any of you folks have experience in this area?

Thanks,

tugs.

TeaLeaf

Errr, attention MeatHook PCS-type folks.  This here is TeaLeaf and this above here is Tugs.  Don't ask why that's his name 8O  Anyway, for his sins (which are both legend and plentiful) Tugs is my little bro, destined to by referred to thus by me, his less intelligent elder.  As I can write my entire Linux knowledge on the back of a pimply-haired pimple-type stamp, I am asking YOU, the more literate forum browser to comment.  So will someone PLEASE give him an answer? Hmm? He is attempting to pervert a multinational IT company's entire computer network and staff into the mother of all CS servers and internal CS competitions.  So do him a favour and post something that a Linux geek in need of Bot info would appreciate eh :D

If you don't, I may have to come visit you:  :2gunfire:

So get your Linux bot skills out of the drawer and post intelligent answers  :rainbowafro:   I thank you.....

Details? Did they compile and not run? Did they not compile at all? Did you get any indication of why?

Fact me baby  :)

Oh and Linux distro with kernel number would be a bonus. And what verion of the glibc libraries are you using. The newest ones are wonky

Stryker

if your using realbot you have to use diff command when running a dedicated server..... erm... cant remember them off top of my head, will have to check the corporate cs server at work :-)   yes we have one too.

think its sumit like

rbds addbot_2_5_7_ct1

adds a bot to team 2, skin 5, skill 7, name ct1 or somthing like that.

Note the "rbds" and the underscores where spaces should be.  that be what makes dem der cummands work in a dedicated server.

Dont take my word for it, I've only really got into this linux cs server melarky over the last week or so.

Sorry about the delay folks - many things going on right now meaning I can't focus on the important things ;-)
