Keylogger Found - WARNING

One of the LAN X attendees found a keylogger on his system yesterday - actually that's not technically correct, he did not find it, he noticed the havoc it caused and then found it.

Please can everyone update their AV and anti-spyware programs and undertake a full system scan to make sure you are clean.

There is no guarantee that the keylogger was spread at the LAN, but better to be safe than sorry.

By any chance you know the name and so from the keylogger and how he found out? Also how he got rid of it? Thanks!

I'll leave that to him to post as I do not know. However if there was one, there may have been more, so do a broad search not a specific one.

Is this the sort of thing that would be picked up by Norton Antivirus 8 does anyone know? I know zip about keyloggers.

I formated my Drives containing Wow and addons just to make sure and it seems to be gone now. Still waiting on Blizzard to get my stuff back :sad: .

But i encourage people to check their systems and never download addons from ui.worldofwar.net!!!

Nah, he's still got the characters and whatever they were wearing at the time, but everything in the characters' bank accounts and bagts (gold & items) is gone. For a raid character that means a lot as you tend to hold several diffferent sets of gear and weapons in your bags to match up better to different types of fights, so it's a hell of a lot of stuff that's gone AWOL.
