Someone asked a FM today to invite Tika to the Guild. The asking is fine, but the application did not go through the proper channels and the Marshall concerned had no right to ask for the invite to be actioned.

This is not 'the Marshalls' Guild' which is why we have a process to allow members to feedback on applications so that we get verified details and feedback on members and the Guild does not turn into a 'personal favourite of an officer groupie' gathering. If you have a whim fine, but sit on it and get the person to submit an application. The process is there for a reason and it should be followed. Next time we find a raid gorup member invited without the application, profile and feedback then we might be tempted /gkick the initiate and then point them in your direction for the explanation of why you not following the process led to them becoming Guidless. You have been warned :ranting2:

Final point. It is not fair to put an FM in a position where they feel they need to check every request you make. Make sure it is done properly please so that we are not put in that position again.

The system is there to make sure that no1 sneaks in the back way. Even close friends of field marshals still have to undergo the same treatment.

I have to say i am a bit disapointed by this.

Im surprised to read this!

I was pretty sure every Marshall did know the invite procedures, simply point people in the direction of the forums, wait for the application, the express your oppinion.

I know Tika, old game-buddy of mine(and severel of SoG people), but that does not mean specielt treatment, channel him through the application process as every one else.

This gets better and better, we have a Defender Initiate in Guild now who is not attuned to any of the instances that RG2 raids :lol:

Well its all my fault, so kick him if you like and ill explain it all to you, all marshals agreed on inviting him so i didnt see any problem with it, but I see now that it needs to go though prober channels and for this i am sorry.
Just blame me for this, as it was me alone that asked Padding for the invite of Tika.

So did I, but I did a small protest on TS that night we discuss him and ask if we could get in any trouble by taking him in like this with application in the future.

I was told since Siff know him, he did know how he played and that's why we should preferred him instead of other applicantions where we didn't know how the guy was playing. It was this argument that made me agree.

Marshalsl now have a profile and a note of the applicants attunements. You now need to decide if he is up to the job. If he has added any attunements then this needs to be added immediately, otherwise he is an auto-decline for RG2 on the basis he could not zone in to any of the raids. He might be acceptable as a Soldier if not acceptable as an RG tank.

Btw, just for info - the Recruitment Status threwd says that you are FULL for Warriors, so this might be a decline anyway.

When you have made your decision then post in the Accept/Hold/Decline thread. If he is declined to RG2 then I have no problem with him being Soldier.

Let's do this relatively quickly as the applicant is also aware of the mess this is.

Play style and such is all wonderfull, but getting a guy in blues, that isnt even attunded anywhere, youll have to ask yourselfs, is it in the best intrest of the raid? We regulary keep spots open waiting for the right guy to come along as not to put the group back to much.

Also, looking at the defender list there is allready 7 warriors, do you need another?

EDIT:
While its nice to be able to raid with real life friends, i think the marshals need to pay *FAR* more attention into providing viable raids to thier members. If you take in too many under spec people you, you gimp the group so its unable to make progres.
When luminance joined this server, he wanted to join RG1, but was instead referd to RG2 cause they at the time where just starting and had similar gear level.
Members want to make progress, and not as noevra says do tactics again. and again. and again.
While its nice to have favorites, you want to get members in with proper gear level as not to alienate the first hour members that in the end will totaly get fed up with having to learn the same fight over and over again, and might leave in the end, causing the self propetuating circle that one can defenatly see the start off now.

I'd like to bond another comment on something about the generel inviting to RG2.

We should be more picky in RG2, we are currently hurting ourself by bringing in green/blue geared people. Every time we lose a epic geared and replaced with a (good) blue geared we get weaker... And I just hate to see this, as I personally feel a setback. All of a sudden we might face the fact that we cannot raid BWL due to the fact many RG2 has crappy gear.

So shouldn't we be a bit more picky in the future?

And glad to hear you got rid of Toff, as he's was just "dead weight" atm.

Regarding Tika, then i asked all of you marshals some weeks ago about Tika, and then all agreed on that it was a good idea to get a player than was good at his char, and listening and following orders. And it was a "minor" issue that his gear was like a newborn lvl 60. Indeed its not good to have a blue/green geared warrior instead of epic geared, however a attending and actually active thinking warrior is alot better than a never attending and non focus warrior (Toff).
Well i agree we should be more picky, but i still support getting Tika in...

I support only inviting those who are attuned to the places they will be mandated to raid. At the very best his application was (a) missing and (b) premature. Report back when he is fully attuned otherwise he is an automatic fail.

I honostly thought that he was attuned to OL, MC and BWL, however the only hes lacking atm is OL and he should have it done anyday now. If you Sazgul will try asking him when he is attuned to last one, because im unstable on internet.
