Got a pm from Bob today as well
Quote from: bobTo The Officers: a small heads-up
Today I got a call from Dell saying that there'll be somebody picking up my laptop tomorrow - finally the fixing process can start, and hopefully I'll have it back in a week and a half or something around there. However, these soon to be three weeks that I've been without WoW has given me some time to think about my time with the game and my position as a Guardian member of SOG.

It's not that I'm tired of raiding in any way - I shure miss it a lot (had a great time when I was able to join last Sunday, borrowing my flatmates laptop), but in the last weeks that I haven't had the raid attendance to think about, I've been able to spend that time one other things that I have given lower priority to in the last months. These are things I realize that I've missed quite much, and it's not all of 'em that easily will be combinable with raiding full-time as a Guardian member.
It can also be mentioned that it for shure wouldn't harm me to have some extra hours for school work (the work load here at the uni is quite much more than what I had last year at college), and with the exam period starting in about a month, there's also a chance that I'll have problems making the attendance requirements for a period of 4-5 weeks or so.

I have during the last week played around with the thought of asking for a demote to Soldier, but it's not something I've been fully able to make up my mind about yet. With TBC comming up soon, and also the fact that I know RG1 have been struggeling a bit with attendance the last weeks, I find it a bit hard to decide what to do.

All I want for now is to give you folks a small heads-up about about what I'm thinking, also to give you the possibility to give me some feedback or comments if you have some. Please send me a PM, or find a time I could meet with you on TS for a chat if you'd like.

I will use the last weeks of my "valid" absence untill I get my laptop back to make up my mind on what to do.

best regards
Bob

Recieved a followup PM from Bob as we did not reply to his first one.
Quote from: BobAs I informed you about in my PM to Vargen on October the 19th, I have in the last weeks been concidering whether I'm able to do what it takes to keep up my status as a raiding Guardian member of SOG or not.

The reason for this (as I also mentioned earlier), is that I during these weeks while I've been without a computer and unable to attend the raids, I have been able to do some other stuff that I've been down-prioritized a bit lately.
One thing is that I've started playing underwater rugby again (have had a break from this since January). It felt good getting back in the game, and I've also gotten to know many cool new folks while playing up here - and with this being a new town I've just moved into, that means quite alot.
The only bad thing, is that we have practices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays - where ofcourse the Tuesday doesn't exactly go well with our raiding schedule.

It is definetly clear that I will not be able to make the attendance requirements that go with the Guardian status. Even though Tuesdays are no-go for raiding, I might be able to attend once in a while if there is a special need (just let me know a day or two in advance, and I'll be able to prioritize), or I'm just not in the mood for rugby practize - but it will not be as often as every other Tuesday (which would have given me at least the minimium required attendance).
However, after tonight's record run in MC, it's not with an easy heart I make this post. This night really reminded me all about what I love in SOG: teamwork, action and a lot of fun. It's not something I look forward to give up on, but if you, The Officers, see that there is no other way, I will of course step away from my Guardian position.

If you should see it fit, that it could be possible for me to continue raiding with an attendance that is a bit lower that required, I would very much appreciate that, but I will of course also fully understand and support it if you decide the other way around.

If you should find out that a demote is the only way to go, I would appreciate that I got a bit of a heads-up before it happens, as I would like to make a post to the rest of the guild about it myself in advance. I would of course also gladly go along as a Guardian untill you've found somebody that can fill my spot, if you want that.

If you would like some more info, have some questions, or just want to talk about it, send me a PM, or find a time we could take a chat on TS :)

sincerely yours
Bob

Got yet another PM on this one

Quote from: BobAs I've informed you about earlier, I have been concidering my status as a Guardian member of SOG. This is due to changes in my RL situation, related both to school and other leisure/social activities.

I have said earlier that Tuesdays are a no-go when it comes to raiding, and it still is. My goal was to keep a 100% attendance on Thursdays and Sundays, but I see now that I will have trouble to do this as well. The main reason for this is that this semester's exam period is closing up, and it requires quite much more work and effort here at the university than it did back on college.

I therefore feel that I no longer can continue to "pretend" being a Guardian, and I would like you to start concidering my demotion.
However, I am aware that we are a bit short on druids, and I wouldn't want you to rush into getting hold of a replacement, so I will try to attend as much as possible (cause I really do still want to raid (would love to see the Twins dead, and also get a look at C'Thun), it's just that I can't guarantee my attendance anymore) for as long as you'd like.

If I don't get any reply from you, say within Saturday (of course, a reply would be nice anyhow, just to know if you have any thoughts about this, if I should do it in some other way, or this looks fine), I will also announce this to the rest of the guild, that I plan to step back, but that I also will try to help out as much as possible for as long as you, the Officers, find it desirable.

Best regards
Bob
