New (at least for me) Warhammer Online movie.. Kinda looking forward to the game, but 2 MMO's may be a problem for me.. :g:

As much as I like Warhammer stuff, I hope that's a joke. I have little faith in a game with the troubled history that WO has beating something as solid as WoW.

Also, the average Warhammer fan is a total nerd (exhibit A: me), which will put people off.

Gotta say I agree with Maus on this one. WO lost it's publisher and almost got completely canned once IIRC. Yes, Warhammer is a popular universe, but I don't think it has anything like a big enough following to even think about toppling WoW. All I see when I look at it is better graphics, more overt humour, and more gore. not necessarily a better *game*.

Now I don't have any previous experience with WO (neither did I with Warcraft before I started playing WoW), but I just have to say that I didn't even close get the same cool, tingly, mighty, exciting feeling from watching this trailer as I did from the WoW trailer. It might have been the composition, the music, the characters, the screenplay, the filming, or a bit of everything - but it just didn't impress me that much.

Well, one of the things that sounds interesting is, the "value" of your character. your char will be worth X points calculated by skills and gear.

U don't gain lvls like in WoW, but are training skills somehow, (depending on your type of char ofc) wich are linked to others and so on. That is kinda similar to what we know in WoW.

But in battlezones (battlegrounds :sideways: ) the overall points your team is worth, is matched by your enemies.
Say 5 uber chars with uber gear is worth a 1000 points, it will require, say, 10 chars on the other side with lesser gear and skills, to match the points. You can also hire npc mercenaries to fight on your team.

Then there are 3 core elements to the system. Skills, Tactics and Morale.

Skills are (obviously) the types of attacks and so on, you have chosen in yuor build.

Tactics are something you define BEFORE the battle, so you can adjust it to your opponents. (sounds cool

Morale is something you gain during the battle. It sounds kinda like how Rage works on warriors in WoW. The more you fight and win, the more Morale, wich will give acces to various attacks and buffs. It is then up to you when you will use your Morale. The more Morale, the stronger attacks/buffs it will release.

Also alot of the fighting evolves around seizing cities and capitals. That will be instanced PVP, and from what i've read, the developers are counting on that this will be the main endgame-content somehow.

i bought Warhammer 40000 Dawn Of War last week. Its like commander and Conquer. Apart from you get squads not single men, commanders , leaders , fighting robots , you can summon a god etc..
Its a good game apart from the table top game makes it sound boring... like most if not all tbaletop games.
