When is a Main Not a Main?

Firstly we need to ocnclude our discussion with DA the other night about his raiding elsewhere.

Secondly, I got this PM today and the issue is sort of related. I'd asked him to put it in writing so we could discuss.

Hmmm.
A way of putting it for raiders is:

Your Main is the Charecter you raid the higest lvl instances with.

For non raiders it seems to be a bit more unnfocused:blink:
Lvl, time used, gear ,hoping to raid with? Main and alt seems to only be important if you are raiding in SoG or another guild.

Don't know if I are allowed to type in here, but I will give it a try....

When some people leave the guild with their main character, all his alt have been kick - but why only some people?

If you look down the guild list(ingame), you find several alts to people who have moved they main some where else(can only remember one in my head but like Foxtrot, he does still have alts in the guild even he did move to another guild).

Don't the guild need to have some kind of policy for this, so all people will be treated in the same way?

Alts should be kicked imo or we gradually become an alt guild by default and that is something Vargen has been most keen to avoid. When WoW is back up I will try to kick the Alts of Foxtrota. The only official exception we made was for Menedil's alt to help run the 20s whilst we had a shortage of Commanders.

So, back to Cadriella's question. Is his Warrior a Main or not. If it is not then following the above logic then he should leave the Guild. If it is then we need to be damn careful that it does not become a raiding alt!

Your thoughts please. (and yes Marshalls are allowed to post here - that's the point of having a single forum for us all)

I think his mage are his main since he moved that out of the guild for rading regular. None of his characters here is raiding atm(beside SoG One raid where he does his stunts aswell)

I would say your main is the character you raid with. In case you raid with multiple chars, it is the one you raid the highest level content with.

I would also like people raiding with other guilds to still have their alt under the SOG guild tag, and not raid with others on our raid days. You are either a part of SOG or you are not.

Well, it came out wrong, but I meant for when people on non SOG raid days join 20 man raids with other guilds and so on. Even though this isn't verry common, if they do this, they should be in SOG anyways. I know some of the dutch people have helped out CE in ZG and some others helped out guilds of friends and so on. That was all I ment really.

To sum it up, if you are SOG, you are SOG only.

I agree on if you have a "alt" in another guild that raids with them MC/BWL/OL that is ur main and not an alt no matter what they say.

Well I mean I don't have anything against you playing your IN GUILD alt in say a open raid like the MC runs Anything used to run. But any regular raiding with another guild obviously isn't apropriate.

Ok, that's what I unerstood your position to be previously then.

I will mail something back to Cadriella then to explain this position and advise that he needs to either bring his alt back into SOG and then he can carry on raiding with it (so long as it does not clash with our raid days or his raid responsibilities) or he needs to remove Cadriella form the Guild as his main is elsewhere.

He does have several alts in the guild, not only Cadriella.

Btw - did a check on alt and have find some where the main is gone, like: Natureman he got Felinegrace/Fellonius/Golondir/Paramedic and Clawline/Clawline does have Snow
