This post is a heads up for Marshalls about the role of Marshalls in the 20 person raids as there has been some feedback about some either not listening to instructions, or just trying to take over the raid.

The 20 person raids is the domain of the Commanders, not the Marshalls.  As a RL myself I appreciate the temptation to say something when you are used to leading, but you must remember that a SOG One raid or a ZG/AQ20 raid is NOT yours to run, it is the responsiblity of the Commanders to lead these raids.

Yes, the Marshalls and the Field Marshalls have a wider responsibility to the Guild and where things are getting wildly out of hand might want to step in from a Guild perspective, but anyone doing so should be damn sure that they are not over-stepping either the mark or their authority.

Marshalls & FMs should leave Commanders to run the raids.  By all means discuss differences in opinion afterwards, but leave the Commanders alone to run the raids.  If the need help they will ask.  If you want to offer help then whisper it to them and be prepared for the offer to be declined if it is not needed.

Just a comment.

I myself enjoy attending a raid, where I'M not a part of the leading. Just to lean back and recieve instructions, and relax a bit, which I cannot when im a Marshall and on raids with RG2. So dont count on me taking over a Commander raid. :D

Each Marshall should assess if it applies to them.  But what is not appropriate is for us all to post here one by one to gradually weed out the potentially guilty by process of elimination.  No post or denial is necessary, just read and think about it.  You'll know if it applies to you and that in itself is sufficient.

New Marshall's come, New Field Marshall's come...

Why not let anyone know how its meant to be?

Maybe one doubted, especially after a Marshall partially took over a raid (not that i have experienced that yet). with this tread all doubts should have been removed for all.

Who can you take this different as Marshals? If it's not for all, you need to be more specific.

It was meant for all Marshalls as a reminder.  That's what heads up means.  It does not mean that you specifically were in error.  Please calm down for goodness sake and take a chill pill.  Yes it is meant for a specific Marshall, but I also wanted to make sure that all other Marshalls got the message and that the Commanders concerned knew that the message had been given to the Marshall concerned.  Now I can do this by writing the same damn thing 3 times (once to the Marshall, once to the Commanders and once to all Marshalls for info) or I can write it ONCE here.  I chose the lazy option, but I didn't take into account how many damn replies i would have to type

If it does not apply to you then you are aware of the issue and can sit back and chill.  If it does then you are aware of the issue and can change the way you behave.

Here's an after thought:

Do all Commanders have access to this forum?  Just in case you have appointed any and not asked for forum permissions to be updated you might want to go check.  Hint hint.

hmmm This could be me that were talking about, however i never try to take over a raid, only thing i would ever do is try to help. Its damn hard to keep ones mouth shut when ur used to speak up all the time in RG2, the raid i think this came up was a ZG raid where Deadly lead it, however noone whispered me that i was speaking too much nor anything, only thing i senced was annoyed replies from RL. But at no point was i told to shut it or just ease down a bit on it. I just figured that with the annoyed replies and such i just turned off my mic for the rest of the run, and said not a word.
Imo there should be a direct order to the person that is "too" much on TS on the very moment that the person "tryes to do tactics or take over raid" We do it in RG2, (my god i remember SPI...) we tell ppl in whispers to shut up on tactics and if they have a suggestion feel free to whisper a marshal about it not just blabber it out on TS in a commanding way. If they do not follow this order to shut up, simply warning then kick from raid...

I think it is about me but if not, hey got fired of a long post with thoughts :D
