Grenth - Nidaros - whispered me today asking if we were looking for a tank.  He is full T1, is happy to prot spec and is submitting an app now I hope.

Grenth also knows a full Tier 1 dwarf priest & a full T1 druid who might be able to come across.  He is going to try to get them to apply too.

Paximperiali & Noxferatum - both are applying, Akall is going to be there sponsor.  Nox has changed jobs and does not get home until 18:40-18:45 and can no longer make the RRG2 raid times (18:30) so both are looking to move to SOG.  I have told them that RG1 currently has a hunter & tank slot open.

I know this i RG1, and thus outta my reach, just wanted to inform in case people had forgotten.

Paximperiali & Noxferatum are old SoG RG2 members.

Greatdanes

I think it could be bad for the morale to take in Paximperiali & Noxferatum in RG1.
Then people can think, okay we will have a chance to get in RG1(as defender) if we leave the guild and then apply.

Agree with GD on this. Its gone be a morale issue if they are accepted

I hear what you are saying, but do you bar anyone who has left from re-applying?

Pax left on 1st August, some 4 months ago.  Nox a month later, so I'm not sure I would call that leaving to come back when it is not at all clear that any spaces would be free upon their wish to return and such a long period expired between now and then.  The reason seems sound (he has changed jobs), so is the concern justified?

I really do understand your concerns, but I am not sure you are looking at it without an element of bias.  My bias is of course RG1.  We need both these slots and if you remove their names from the applications then they would probably both be accepted and wanted.

What will RG2 members who have been turned down their application because of the rules we have, thinks.

Could it be, if I leave the guild for some time, I will get a better chance for a RG1 spot?(as if you step down to soldier).

I think we need to get rid of that rules, so RG2 members have the same chance as if they wasn't a member of RG2.

This rule was implemented on request of the marshalls cause they did not want to loose all good geared members to RG1. So i find it confusing to hear you are saying we need to get rid of em.

That rule was put in place at request of marshals, we follow it to avoid problems in RG2. But on topic, ill pass on pax and nox.

The rule was set up to avoid that RG2 became a fishing dam for RG1 and we did that.

But it's seems the rule now it's not fair to RG2 members who have stay and help out but now want to move on.

Is this a personal interest showing through?  Think about it carefully before requesting we release the floodgates, otherwise within 24 hours we could have recruited all of our recruitment needs from RG2 and that would leave you needing an MT1, a Hunter, your top 2 druids, and 2 more dwarf priests.  Is that really what you want to happen?  Seriously, I can understand your frustration, but take the rule away?

Stepping up, great, but its all or nothing, or it becomes a logistics nightmare.

Maybe not removed, but reviewed / looked over and see if it can be change in any way so it can benefit the guild instead of been a burden for peopel that have choose to be in RG2(not saying it is, but it can be).

The only progress you can make as RG2 member is stick to RG2 or stop raiding(become a soldier) or leave the guild. Why not give people more options.

And no TL, this is not a personal thing, only a thought about why as RG2 member you only have the possibility to "go back" or leave the guild if you want more.

Firstly and completely OT, I'm amazed at the number of BBcodes in that post - simply staggering.

GD, I asked the question about personal interest because I honestly could not see what else had prompted you to ask for the removal of the rule.  I apologise if offence was caused, none was intended.

Is the current rule a 'get out of jail free' card to current RG2 members aiming at RG1?   Personally I see leaving the guild for 4 months and then applying to come back with no guarantee of either a slot being open in RG1 or of the application's success as a pretty poor way of circumventing the current rules, so I view the risk to the Guild as minimal.

Having said that, I am absolutely open to anything that makes life in the Guild  better and allows more progress.  If you can bring some ideas to the table as to what the new rules might potentially be or how such a system might work in practice then I would be delighted to have a full and frank discussion with everyone about it.  Such a system would certainly make it easier for RG1, I'm just not sure what is in it for RG2.

If we all buy into an idea then it can be agreed and implemented.  I have to be honest and say that I have zero ideas in this respect at the moment, so any contribution you can make would be more than welcome because my ideas well has run dry in this area

Well I have one and it goes like this:

When a free spot comes up, all can apply.
If there is a RG2 member and some one out of the guild the Marshals are contacted and ask what they think. Can we agree on the RG2 member can go we maybe can use nother one. This was a short version of it but will be mostly to discuss it on TS some time.

we tried that for a while at the start, and it ended up giving mostly false hope, since alot of ppl wherent allowed to go up, cause they where not eazyly replaceable for RG2, and thus the current rule was made as to make sure RG2 could benifit from the work they put into gearing members up :)
