In an attempt to make the plans for SOG and TBC a bit more clear, here is the "battle plan" as conceived by the Field Marshals.

We realize that currently not everyone is up for raiding anymore, hence we are going to extend the raid break up to TBC and the point where we can venture into new and exciting instances. As some ppl still want to see BWL, and Naxx the FM's will organize sign up raids for those members still wanting to kill all the bosses of old before starting on the new ones. This will also give us the practice and tactics that the FM's assume will be required in TBC.

One exception we hope those that dont want to raid anymore will make is the MC speed run, where we aim to break the world record before the expension of the level cap.

Upon TBC launch we aim to reset the member ranking system, as we did with the original implementation of the defender/guardian system. After that members can choose their preferred group . The new raids will aim to raid on the current raid days RG1 uses, with stronger enforcement of several rules as made evident by feedback from members.

As for the names and ranks of these groups, feel free to help the FM's by putting up suggestions that can be used :narnar:
Aszune (Alliance):
Sokhar lv 80 (H/M) Warrior, Sokhár lv 80 (H/M) Death Knight, Beset lv 70 (NE/F) Druid, Bastet lv 70 (NE/F) Rogue, Mentu lv 70 (Dr/M) Shaman
-=[dMw]=-Bastet (CSS) / -=[dMw]=-Niwa (BF2) / -=dMw=- Sokhar (BF2142)
-=[dMw]=- MVP Award Holder (June 2006) Winning team -=[dMw]=- Christmas Crunch (2008)

Food for thought.

Are we still going with two RGs, or implementing a third? (Given they should be 25 man groups...)

As people will be asked at the time what they want to do then the numbers at that time will no doubt have a bearing on the answer to yoru question.  My guess would be that we will see two strong raid groups, but higher or lower numbers are possible too.

As I cheer upon reading this, I would like to suggest strong rules for neglecting rules. No more "Hey I wouldn't come and there is even no penalty" thingy..

Also as I have a luxery called time, I realy would like to see 4 raiding days....making me a joker :P

I actually think come TBC it might be best to do away with the traditional RG1,2 etc. Just have 'raiding members' and 'non-raiding' members.

On raid days sign up the same as AQ20 etc and fill up as many raid groups as possible.

The point I am making is that maybe it's time to stop splitting the guild in half and join together and utilize all the manpower to archive better results.

Now is the best time due to the TBC gear and everyone will be on an almost equal footing.

Lucian

I like that idea.  The guild becomes what we make it.

I also like to get something like that, but that its not really practical. You need to function with the same people so that you play better together.
And since not all people have the luxury to raid the same numbers or raid nights on same nights, there should be a bit of diffirence. That in the way i mentioned before. This way we don't loose people who wanna raid hardcore (since the joker would be for them), we continue with guardian 3 nights (wich proved to be succesfull (if alot more choose for thes we could ofc make 2 guardian raids ;)) and for those who like to raid high end more casual you'll have the defender rank who raid 2 nights.

I beg to differ.

Take ZG and AQ20 for example, at first it was a case of working out the tactics and then applying them to Rg1. Once we had this down it only took a few members in the raid who could lead and pass on the tactics for the raid to be successful with mostly AQ20, ZG virgins.

All members of SoG have the same ethos and virtually the same ability and ergo should be able to intermingle as required.

I know what you mean but think of it this way, with the current future holding 5 and 10 man raids for a few months did you ever raid scholo and strat with the same people 3 times a week for months on end...no.

To benefit the whole guild, I believe that the whole guild has to take part and all benefit from the experiences that lie in wait for us.

I think that SoG in TBC should be for the majority not just the 'few' and therefore options to play in highend instances should be available to all...
