Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

Btw, does the decision Aldor vs. Scryer have any other influences? Like the rewards for the quests they offer. Sometimes quest rewards can be pretty important, like the UBRS trinkets were for example. Or is the vendor stuff the only thing they're for and don't they offer any other quest except the repeatable rep-grind ones?

Vanguish

I did choose Aldor

Thought is was way better for my little lockie :dribble:

Quote from: Mazii;174116IAnyways, I fell over this quote from the Unofficial forums:
QuoteYou can still do quests for the opposite side. You can hand in tokens to farm rep aswell.
There is a friendly Scryer npc in Low Town (regardless of what rep you have with Scryers) who will give you quests that you can turn into her.
You can also hand in tokens to her aswell once you've completed the quest lines.
The effect of "choosing" a side is simply a headstart with regards rep. You can build up the rep of the opposite side all the way to Exalted if you wish with the drawback being you start from Hostile instead of Friendly. The adverse effect is simply reducing your Aldor reputation relative to your Scryer's increased.
So, in short, you've bitten yourself on the toe but not all is lost ^^.
This is from the 2.0.6 patch notes:
Players will no longer be given access to both quest lines followingthe Declaration of Allegiance to the Scryers or Aldor in Shattrath City.
I guess that will make it a bit harder to gain rep with both factions :g:

Bastet

Thats something else bob, after you choose you got the quests for both leaders, the seer and the high shaman, if i understood correct you only get the option of your own faction now.
Aszune (Alliance):

-=[dMw]=-Bastet (CSS) / -=[dMw]=-Niwa (BF2) / -=dMw=- Sokhar (BF2142)
-=[dMw]=- MVP Award Holder (June 2006) Winning team -=[dMw]=- Christmas Crunch (2008)

Yeah, the idea I think was not to 'Make it harder', but to stop it completely. They wanted people to have to make a choice between the two rather than be able to play the numbers and be able to get all the gear from both.

Mal: Define interesting...

We were never able to gain rep for both at the same time, if you do a quest for one faction your rep would go down with the other. Switching sides is still possible, but involves a lot of grinding. It isn't Blizzards intention to restrict people.

I know it's obvious, but it would be handy to have leatherworkers, blacksmiths and tailors on both sides, because the vendors offer patterns for our new resistance gear (Aldor = fire, Scryers = arcane). We'll probably need those for the new raid dungeons.
