I'de like to gather some information on the Blacksmith spec change.

Whats needed?
What do you need to do?
Were to go?
Is it a one time process, or repeatable?

50g, talk to the guy in IF (Weapon/Armorsmith trainer), I wish to forget my weapon / armorspec, then go to the dude that orginaly gives you the choise: I used to be a weapon / armorsmith and i now want to be a weapon / amrorsmith. If weapon then go to winterspring, i used to be a weapon / armorsmith and now want to be a axe/mace/sword smith.
 
Think its repeatable due to the money cost, i am however NOT sure on this.

When you once leave BSing for another profession, the skill you had is reset right? or will I have 300 BS if I take that up again?

afaik you keep 300 and all the recipies you had before tbc, but ime not sure about this (ime not willing to risk since ive spent near/ or over a thousand in my recipies...)

ive got all the boe ones, most of bop, all cenarion rep, some AD rep, all zandalar rep, all scholo "rep", all the quest ones. (not mc/bwl/aq20) plus the bplate from aq40,

It be reset to 1, cause you had another proffesion, else it would be imba, just train all up to 375 and keep swopping as you needed them.

Yes all the ones you have now (appart from those that the trainers teach now, the new ones) will remain, and you will remain at what ever skill level you have. I had quite a few armorsmith recipys (dark iron, the 3 books, etc) and i still know all of them.

i just went swordsmithing, heres what happened

if youre chainging a weaponsmith spec to another weaponsmith, just go to winterspring. talk to the guy you did the quest for and say you want to unlear ****smithing

 ( pay 50g) you will only loose the TBC axe/sword/hammer ones (ie fel iron stuff will still be there, and the skill too, and every other recipie before tbc)

then just talk to the new weapon smith spec trainer you want and you get "promoted" instantly. you can also do the quests, (now optional, to get those prev rewards from the quest.)



if changing from weapon to armor: 1st go to winterspring and unlearn your spec. then go to if ( the guy in the middle) and tell him you wish to untrain your weaponsmithing. then talk to the armor smithing guy and its done.
