What is teamwork?

Teamwork is working together for the common good.

When you are in a team playing CS it is about providing support to your teammates to help achieve the objective.

This means:
  • Use a buyscript! Five times tonight i spawned at the back, a rush was called and I was first into the mincer with people still in spawn!! That is a complete waste in Dust because the only way is to hit hard and fast left - anything else is asking for trouble at the start of a round.
  • When a teammate calls for backup - go help him - especially when that teammate has the bomb as is on his own in the mincer.
  • When an ECO is called in good time (ie I called "if we lose this round do NOT buy at next round" at the start of a round) and it is also typed out to cater for poor comms and repeated at respawn, then there is NO excuse for buying at the start of the round (Whitey you are excluded as you joined from CT and had lots of money - my gripe is aimed at the other four who didnt listen).
  • If somebody calls a tactic then go with it. At one point the bomb carrier called go B (CT spawn). I spawned at ramp which is as far as you can get from mincer and was on my own at CT side of the mincer for 10 seconds!
I know this is a game and we are here to have fun but the aim is to have enjoyment by working as a team - that was the worst friday night on meathook in living memory for me :(

I'm going to take a break for 30 mins and then rejoin to see if things improve but I encourage everyone to think about what has been posted here - dMw is all about teamwork and your team/friends and nothing else matters!

I totally agree with everything you say.  Things did improve shortly after you left and the last couple of maps have been great!

I'm on my why back now :D

Blunt

agreed BB the calls were clear and precise.
trouble is, comms are so bad they're going out of fashion, and not everyone clocks the text.

when MH was in it's prime, comms were the dogs....it seems css is w*nk at comms so most don't bother.

I've noticed since I got my new headphones, that most peeps can understand me (so I'm talking more); before that, no=one could understand a word I said.

I could understand you BB, but others were muffled/distorted.

I reckon everbody should buy medusa 5.1's

Agreed, VCs aren't much help when nobody understands you.
Had fun even when i started playin crap since italy, wanted to rejoin after beirut as my file/copy of it wont work for some reason, but there it is, completely empty :(
If anyone is up for goin on boomer or startin MH back up, let's do this, the night is still young :narnar:

BB's VoiceComms were REALLY clear.
Mike, totally seconded.
On that 1 map I rushed with you as you know...with a scout...

But guys, really, tonight I rushed with the bomb, got it down, finding half the team hanging back.

1)Do your teams objective
2)Help out a teammate if he asks for, teamscore over personal score (I'd rather die so my team gets the bomb down and the extra money then to be the last one out of spawn and trying to pick people off).
3) WHEN THE MAP CHANGES, CHANGE SIDES!!! CT--->T, T--->CT!!!
4)Call flashes, if you throw one, notify your teammate nearby.
5)Try and get a VoiceComm guys, VC's are 1 of the most important things for CS!!!!

Sorry to wreck your world DuV but VC could be clear for you but rubbish for someone else from the same person. That is the big and main gripe with CSS at the moment.

If only someone with programming skills could do the following:
We use a VC program (TS2 or other) with three channels. The VC program automatically assigns your channel depending on your choice of team (CT, T or Spec). So what are you waiting for ... start programming you lazy gits! :flirty:

That would be ideal!

well.. the easy way is to assign shortcuts to the TS client... Then everyone just have to do the key-combo and switch channel.. i know... its a extra three-four buttons to push, but at the up side, we can hear you

Well, I had the forward key down as time ran out and I rushed with you chaps, except once. I had no idea that ECO was said, and I just learned what is meant by that after reading your post. Comms - I got yours, BB's, comms clearly. Rest was noise. As mentioned elsewhere, I just cant make out what people say even though trying really hard

My comment on your post is - say my name, and then toss the critique in my face as we play. When I hear the name I know you are talking to me, and I will ask for a repeat if needed. Also easier for me to understand what is up, if said somewhat in situ. I want to improve my playing, but there are so many things I dont know, you all know how little I've played this game...So bare with me

When buying I just do an auto-buy. If someone could help me out with a script it would be cool. Not sure I understand how to install those. Just figured out how to bind a key :) ... even though console still wont work, despite binding the key and enabling it in the game in advanced. Might be my DK regional settings, even though I've changed to US-kb in the game...?

If someone in the team has a bundle of cash (and a buy script), why does it matter if they buy a better weapon after an Eco is called?

Because the money can be shared between members of the team at next round to give everyone good weapons.
