So, let me get this right, so we're all singing from the same hymn sheet (horrible cliche, but apt here)...
and seeing as I've been warning, then kick for 2nd, then ban...or like tonight,when it was aimed at admin and abusive, a 30 min ban straight off.

What is the standard treatment you guys deal out?

maybe this is the wrong thread to start this discussion, but thinking about it, an "admin guidance thread" would be really useful for us new admins:D

I should not read stuff like this early in the morning, thought it said Bastet...:doh:

Luminance is Dutch, the same as me (not really an escuse) but now a days people don't really consider it as swearing. If you'd tell him about it I don't think he'd do alot with it.
Also I don't think he noticed BB's comment through the console and probably thought it was directed at [CHD]Nick

He didn't see BB's comments and this particular case has been taken care of.

BB had already issued some guidance regarding swearing by dMw members but I'll try and pull the stuff we have together into one post.

Good point...

I think that there should be some uniform guidance as there are many mani admins - all of whom who take a slightly different approach

So long as the action taken by one and all is consistent then that's the main thing.

1 warning with playername clearly visible
kick or ban (permanent)

Community member
1st warning
2nd warning
kick
ban (30 min)

My motto is do not take ANY abuse. If they are disrupting your own game don't go into argumentation. Just immediate ban (perm). I don't waste time trying to convert morons or illiterates. :byebye: Bye bye! :devil:

Well I have to say:
Sometimes when you point people out that they should play by the server rules (usually they just join and play), and you warn people 2 times and they still don't listen then I slay them. If they ask why then I'll tell them "again" about the rules we play by. Must say that because of doing it this way you seem to attract their attention and they usually find it quit appaling so they keep returning (to play by our rules).
Last night I had a quick game and a teamm8 kept shooting all the hostages, so I went: slay, slay, kick. He returned and played decent. If he would have returned and shot them again it would have been a ban...

I don't think we should be as lenient on community members, they should know the rules. I would go straight to step 3. Totally agree about the non community members though.
