TS Meeting 8/3/07

Ime not such a good journalist, but heres what i wrote up:

• Are we satisfied with the first month of the "New SOG"?
• Have we done anything good?
• Have we done anything not so good??

[/LIST]We are, its been a month, and maybe a bit more. Roster seems to have stabilised, we also cleaned up left over toons.
 
We need to improve communication.
 
 
What are our plan further on - do we wish to raid?

• If yes:
• Should we set ourselves a date to aim for, and if so: when?

[/LIST]We are aiming for 16th April or sometime near that date

• Who can and will take responsibility for being in charge of the raid group? Or do we need another officer for that?

Tenilia shall be asked if he would like to take up an Officer slot, we think hese the best candidate for this spot. reasons are: previous experience, initiative and he seems to like making new tactics and calculations. (another might be needed aswell)

• Should we aim for one or two raid groups?

Depends on the instance, for 10mans we are aiming for 2 groups. (depends highly on how many members will raid)
 
How shall we do this: We intend to use the old 20man signup site. Lets say we have 25 that want to raid and all of them signed up. We shall form 2 balanced groups thus leaving 5 out, those other 5 will be added to a queue which will be 1 pool for both groups. The ones who signed up and were left out will have prioirty next week.
 
Regarding progression, If we notice a certain group is not doing so well, we will shift some members so they can help eachother out. Basically, we dont want any competition between the groups.

• How many days do we intend to raid?

We agreed 2 days a week should be enough, we shall also make a poll on the 2nd April regarding the raiding days.

• When (or if) shall we start to recruit to fill up on the needed classes, and how shall the recruitment process work?

First we shall make a public poll that questions: Will you raid? Y/N (welle be able to see the names and their vote). Class balance will be assesed and we shall move from there.

• Regarding what instances to do first:

We plan on both Kharazan and easy heroics at first if we get stuck we shall try switching between them untill our gear level is improved accordingly.

• Should we cooperate with another guild to set up a raid group?

All agreed to a NO answer, but there is an exeption, a number of ex-members offered their help. If the groups cant be filled via the site or the members online we shall open those slots to them.

• Should we offer some kind of other organized activities for our members (e.g. PvP)?

At the moment we dont plan on making an official pvp "club" since most make pvp groups by themselves. On a sidenote, some guild arenas would be nice to have.

• There was talk about creating a joint guild chat channel (with Genesis) some time back - are we gonna try get this thing up and running?

This will be taken care of by G, Menedil said its a nice idea, so he shall be asked if we are to go ahead with this.
Communication

• How can we best assure a continuous, dynamic and living flow of communication among us officers?

More frequent posting in this section is required, even if you dont have anything to say in a particular thread, post that youve read it and you agree/dont agree with it.

• Are discussion and debates on the forum working out?

Seems like it, but as was said on the previous answer, more activity is needed. We will also make polls if need be.

• Do we need to schedule regular TS meetings to talk things out?

Yes, a meeting every 3 weeks was agreed upon, unless urgent items pop up

• Should we have some kind of goal to communicate out to the members of the guild on a regular basis, so that they know what are going on?

Yes, members will feel left out, and thats bad and very annoying. Weekly "briefs" on whats happening should be enough

• What about the rank change, are we doing it? + what type of ranks?

Yes, we are changing back to non-miliarised rankings
 
ie: Initiate, alt, member, officer alt, officer, gm (the old raiding ranks will be kept as a placeholder, just in case we need them later on)

Ok jolly good.

I don't think there will be enough healers for 2 raid groups by 16th April... but I could be wrong (pls consider that the healers will have to want to raid to). So it would be advisable to aim for the one raid group, if we do start raiding.

I am happy to see Teni be promoted.

I won't be able to be involved with a raiding schedule till August (finals, dissertation and then cycling northern Europe).
 
I think 2 day raid schedule is cool, hopefully get a nice weekend slot in too.

Otherwise I'll be staying reasonably active on the forums, can't promise I'll be playing alot for just now though!

And while you're doing that, just a minor detailed I've noticed - it's SOG Member/Officer/etc, and not SoG. Yes, I know - silly details, but I just can't help be annoyed at these kind of things :crazy:

All the "sub-officer" ranks, do they all have access to the General section in the SOG War room?
I would think that is fine for now. When we get the need for a bit more structure in here (for when we start raiding, inviting new members etc), we can make a structure than, and if necessary see where we need to limit the different kinds of access.

At the moment the permissions allow only the old Field Marshall and Marshall ranks to view the War Room.  The COmmander rank used to give access to the COmmander's War Room, but that is defunct at the moment and they do nto have access to the War Room and never have had access.

SOG Commander or raiding officer cannot see this place. I think TL needs to remake a raiding officer forum, since the old one got moved into one of the archive forums.
